They're on the beach, on cycle paths, in our backyards, on fences, swimming around Herdsman Lake, but they haven't yet been spotted riding the train.
Until now.

Snake works on tan at South Fremantle Beach
As the weather heats up be sure to keep your eyes to the ground as snakes can pop up anywhere.
As the weather finally warms up in the west, Cockburn Train Station is the latest addition to the list of unlikely snake hotspots around Perth.
This slippery customer - apparently a dugite and more than a metre in length - startled passerby Paige Michael and her friend outside the station around midday on Friday.
"It was [at] the south end, not where the bus station is but the other side," Ms Michael said.
"It looked like a dugite of almost two metres.
"It was really quite unreal; this massive snake coming from nowhere and darting across the bricks.
"Then it went into the bushes. There were a lot of people around, so it was quite scary.
Ms Michael said her friend Daniel made sure the snake made its way to safety in nearby bushland.
"He made a big effort to make sure no one walked into the snake and it went into the bushes," she said.
"It must have been scary for the snake, too. There used to be more bushland around there, they must all be looking for somewhere to go."
Perth Hills Reptile Removals snake catcher Adam Firstenberg said he couldn't be certain from the picture but the snake seemed to be the highly-venomous dugite, which can adapt to the type of properties in the area.
"Pretty odd for it to be crossing roads into a train station, though," he said.
Ms Michael and her friend posted footage of the snake online, where it attracted plenty of jokes about snakes on a train and Samuel L. Jackson.
"Hope it tagged off," observed one commenter.
But many more on social media lamented urban sprawl in their habitats.
"Considering how fast we are destroying their habitat, I'm not surprised at all," one said.
"I remember when Cockburn Central was all bushland, all the animals and birds were displaced," said another.
"I hope this snake made it to some of the remnant fragments of greenery left without someone killing it."
