Some footage from a recent drum trip, the day started off well getting a Drum on my 2nd cast but he was the only one we'd see again until sunset. In between, we were catching Dogfish after Dogfish which are prolific in NJ around the same time the Striped Bass and Drum are in the surf (May/June), they were finding our clams within minutes and making it very difficult to even hope to hook into any drum. My buddy Tom came out and we tried a new spot in attempt to get away from the dogfish however they were just as thick at spot #2. Luckily in the final minutes of the day got a good bite and felt the unmistakeable weight and headshakes of a Black Drum. This one was slightly larger around 25lbs whereas the first fish of the day was probably 15lbs. Any day you catch a fish off the beach is a goo...
