Why Duchess Kate will not be in Pippa's bridal party

Amy Lyall |

Pippa Middleton may have upstaged Kate on her big day, but it doesn’t look like it’s going to happen to her.

Pippa Middleton is engaged to hedge-fund manager James Matthews and it doesn’t look like her older sister will be standing beside her on her big day.

Princess Kate is “absolutely delighted” with the news that her little sister is getting married, but her royal status could cause an upset on her big day.

During Kate and Williams nuptials in 2011, Pippa became bridesmaid-of-the-century and instantly rose to fame and her big sister will want to do her best to avoid that.

Stealing her thunder?

“Kate would upstage her sister,” veteran royals author Judy Wade explained to People.

“It’s a tricky situation for Pippa. She would want her sister by her side, as who else would she trust to make things go well?

“But if your sister is a future Queen, she is going to upstage the bride and draw attention. Kate would want to be in the background as much as possible,” she told the mag.

It’s not hard to understand why Princess Kate would take a backseat and not steal her sister’s thunder on her wedding day.

Taking a back seat

Princess Kate will also have Prince George and Princess Charlotte to keep an eye on all day to make sure they don’t steal the show, but we’ve got to admit they are adorable and you wouldn’t be able to stay mad at either of them.

The option to do a reading is a likely option that Kate will take when it comes to Pippa’s nuptials.

Pippa and Matthew became engaged in July this year and a lavish society wedding is set to happen sometime next year.
