Where do you need timber floor installers?
As a flooring material choice for your home, timber flooring offers as much durability as it does natural beauty.
1. Floating timber floors
Instead of nailing the floors down, these floors are fixed to a high-density fibreboard which itself consists of a rubber or foam underlay that serves to reduce noise. The floating floors are then installed directly on top of the existing floor, leaving fewer, little gaps for movement.
2. Structural timber floors
Structural timber floors should only be installed by a professional. Joists and bearers support the flooring that requires a good amount of ventilation in the sub-floor space to prevent bending or warping in the timber.
3. Tongue and Groove timber flooring
Tongue and Groove timber flooring ensures minimal gaps, and therefore limited movement in our flooring. An individual tongue and groove defines each board at their opposite borders, that themselves slot into the above boards in the laying process.
The installation of timber floors requires experience in wood sanding and finishing, making it difficult for the everyday person to complete a quality DIY job. If you do decide to carry the work out yourself, beware of the drum sander that can leave ridges and noticeable marks, and to avoid dust make sure to purchase prefinished timber floors. Otherwise consult your preferred Timber flooring professional who will be able to advise you on the best installation that will suit your requirements.
