The Back Nine is a one hour show on Sunday mornings providing insight into the latest from the PGA Tour, tips, profiles on up and coming players and cover some of the best destinations you can travel to play golf. Gavin and Julian are the quintessential weekend golfers and take a passionate yet light-hearted approach to the Back Nine.
Gavin Pitchford
Gavin “the One Iron” Pitchford is the co-host of the Outdoor & Fishing Show and studio producer of the Chris Smith Show. A talented golfer, Gavin is a low handicapper and at age fifteen, briefly entertained the prospect of turning pro. Ray Hadley christened him “The One Iron” due to his tall and lanky frame, although Chris Smith thinks “Big Bertha” is a little more accurate these days as Gavin enjoys fatherhood.
Julian King
Julian King was the co-host of the Kerry O’Keeffe Show and producer with Macquarie Media. The epitome of a weekend hacker, he once sledged Stuart Appleby on the practice range at Torrey Pines for missing the cut at the Buick Invitational. A quiz master extraordinaire, he’ll tell you Gene Sarazen invented the sand wedge.
