Victorians in the state's far south west say they can't understand why they've missed out on road funding.

Daniel Andrews announced a $1.8 million upgrade to roads west of Melbourne on Tuesday.

But it only extended to Werribee.

Glenelg Shire Councillor Karen Stephens told Tom Elliott roads west of Warrnambool were broken and threatening the safety of motorists.

"They are certainly are," she said on 3AW Drive.

"The RACV has come out and said they are the worst in Victoria and are no longer patchable."
