A new study has found older drivers and older cars are driving up the road toll.

While that in itself is no great surprise, James Goodwin from the Australasian New Car Assessment Program told Tom Elliott it had provided

The research found the average age of a car involved in fatal accidents was 12-and-a-half years.

"We need people in safer cars," Mr Goodwin told Tom Elliott.
