Woolloongabba mum dies, son stable after driveway reversing accident

A woman has died after being run over by her husband in the driveway of her Woolloongabba home on Tuesday.

Police said the 57-year-old man was driving the Subaru Forester at the Vanda Street home about 6.30pm when he reversed into his 50-year-old wife and 14-year-old son.

Paramedics rushed the woman to the Princess Alexandra Hospital and her son to the Lady Cilento Children's Hospital, both with critical injuries.

The Queensland Ambulance Service said the woman was trapped under the vehicle for some time and had to be revived at the scene.

The pair were fighting for their lives, but police said on Saturday the woman had died overnight, while her son remained in a stable condition.

The boy also suffered critical injuries, including broken legs, but wasn't trapped by the vehicle.

The forensic crash unit is investigating, but police say the crash is being treated as a tragic accident.
