The Horizontal axis of each curve indicates the input tone and the Vertical axis indicates the output tone. When the curve is left at it’s neutral position, the input and output are the same for each point along the line, so the image is unchanged. Click to add a point to the line. Then, click and drag the point to adjust the curve. You can add more points to the line to isolate areas and make more detailed changes. The white curve controls the tone of the blacks and whites in your image. The other curves adjust the tone of each color channel. The reset button below each curve can be used to reset the changes of just that channel. The reset button to the far right will reset the changes to all of the curves. For this example, we will crush the darks of our image to remove the detail in the shadows, creating a vintage look. Next, we will show you how to use the Balance and Primaries Tools. The two tools have identical controls but effect the colors of your images differently. The Balance tool controls the color of the Shadows, Midtones and Highlights of your image. While the Primaries adjust the Lift, Gamma, and Gain. The Primaries controls use a much narrower range of tones, allowing to isolate a range better. Let’s take a look at the Balance interface. Click and drag the center point of each circle to adjust the color in that exposure range. The closer you are to the edge of the circle, the stronger the color change will be. Once you have the color strength the way you want it, you can click and drag the point to the right of each circle up or down to brighten or darken the entire color wheel. Just like the curves tool, the reset button next to each wheel resets just that range. The reset button to the far right will clear the changes to entire tool. For this example, we will adjust the colors of our image to create a more cinematic look. Next, we will show you how to use the HuHue Tool. This tool allows you to adjust the hue of a specific color range. The Color Spectrum below the main line indicates the input color that you wish to changes. The Spectrum above the line indicates the output color that you would like the color range to become. Click to add a point to the line. Add more points to the line to better isolate a specific color range. Then, click and drag one of the points toward the color you want it to become. The reset button to the far right will clear the changes to entire tool. For this example, we will adjust the hue of the sky to make it look like dusk. Finally, we will show you how to use the Saturation Tool. This tool allows you to adjust the saturation of a specific color range. The Color spectrum above the main line indicates the color range being effected. The height of the main line indicates the saturation for the color range. Then, click and drag the points up or down to increase or decrease the saturation. The reset button to the far right will clear the changes to entire tool. For this example, we wil isolate the color of the flare and desaturate everything else.
