Kanye West spoke to the critically acclaimed and award-winning Oxford Guild Society, Oxford's, the UK's and Europe's largest and oldest professional society, dating back to 1897, on Monday 2nd March 2015 at 3pm. This was an unprecedented, history making opportunity to hear from and ask questions of such a high profile figure and was a truly exciting event and a momentous occasion at the historic Oxford University Museum of Natural History which was established in 1850. Over 5,000 students balloted for the event which was announced 16 hours before it was due to take place and Kanye had widely been described as one of the biggest speakers that Oxford and any society in the UK has seen in the past decades. This was the most oversubscribed event at Oxford in over 15 years. The event was covered in over a thousand newspapers, magazines, websites and TV and radio outlets globally in over 100 countries (everything from BBC World News to Vice's Noisey). Guild Chairman and re-founder Abbas Kazmi hosted the event with President Rohan Arora and Vice President Irenne Ighodaro, and commented that ‘It was a true honour to be able to host and welcome Kanye to the Oxford Guild, and the reaction since the event has been huge! The event was covered in over a thousand newspapers, magazines, websites and TV and radio outlets globally in over 100 countries (everything from BBC World News and TIME to MTV and Vice's Noisey) and I had to juggle a huge number of press calls, emails and quote and interview requests! I’ve even had people emailing opportunistically to put his team in touch so they can organise their own events (the most bizarre was for someone’s 16th birthday party!) It was amazing President Obama himself commented on it on multiple occasions, let alone one, and it even featured in a Kanye song with Tyler, the Creator and Lil Wayne. It is great to see the hard work pay off after having spent many hours negotiating against the odds and keeping things under wraps to secure this event which is a real coup for the Guild, which I am proud to see continuing to grow from strength to strength, reaching even higher heights and winning ever more national best university society awards and accolades. Special thanks must to go the committee for their efforts, enthusiasm and commitment which make sure the Guild continues to be the premier university run organisation not just in Oxford but across the UK and internationally. The event was incredibly well organised and put together at short notice – the Guild has a unique, tried and tested, successful ticketing policy for its largest scale speakers and social events. We do not want students to waste their afternoons queuing outside the Union chamber in Frewin Court for example, only not to be let in and to be left disappointed. Nor do we want students to ballot and then not turn up leaving empty seats which have been taken by others. We minimised these risks by opening a random ballot list and ensuring every seat was used by those who were successful in the ballot. Never content with complacency and settling, there are plenty more high profile speakers, exciting events and developments to come - we have been working industriously behind the scenes ahead of next year and would recommend you watch this space!’

Oxford
Oxford (/ˈɒksfərd/) is a city in the South East region of England and the county town of Oxfordshire. With a population of 159,994 it is the 52nd largest city in the United Kingdom, and one of the fastest growing and most ethnically diverse. Oxford has a broad economic base. Its industries include motor manufacturing, education, publishing and a large number of information technology and science-based businesses, some being academic offshoots. The city is known worldwide as the home of the University of Oxford, the oldest university in the English-speaking world. History
Medieval
Oxford was first settled in Saxon times and was initially known as "Oxenaforda", meaning "Ford of the Oxen" (according to the English Place-Name Society, who base their result on a passing reference in Florence of Worcester's work "Chronicon ex chronicis"); fords were more common than bridges at that time. It began with the establishment of a river crossing for oxen around AD 900. In the 10th century, Oxford became an important military frontier town between the kingdoms of Mercia and Wessex and was on several occasions raided by Danes.

David Icke
David Vaughan Icke (/aɪk/, born 29 April 1952) is an English writer, public speaker and former professional footballer and sports broadcaster. He promotes conspiracy theories about global politics and has written extensively about them.
Icke was a BBC television sports presenter and spokesman for the Green Party, when in 1990 a psychic told him that he was a healer who had been placed on Earth for a purpose, and that the spirit world was going to pass messages to him. In March 1991 he held a press conference to announce that he was a "Son of the Godhead" – a phrase he said later the media had misunderstood. He said that a subsequent appearance on BBC's Wogan changed his life, turning him from a respected household name into a public laughing stock.
He nevertheless continued to develop his ideas, and in four books published over seven years—The Robots' Rebellion (1994), And the Truth Shall Set You Free (1995), The Biggest Secret (1999), and Children of the Matrix (2001)—he set out a worldview that combined New-Age spiritualism with a denunciation of totalitarian trends in the modern world. At the heart of his theories lies the idea that a secret group of reptilian humanoids called the Babylonian Brotherhood (including George W. Bush, Queen Elizabeth II, Kris Kristofferson and Boxcar Willie) controls humanity, and that many prominent figures are reptilian. He further proposes that the Moon is an artificial construct—"probably a hollowed-out planetoid"—from which the reptilians broadcast an "artificial sense of self and the world" that humans mistakenly perceive as reality.

Kanye West
Kanye Omari West (/ˈkɑːnjeɪ/; born June 8, 1977) is an American recording artist, record producer, fashion designer and entrepreneur. He is the founder of the record label GOOD Music and creative content company DONDA. West is one of the most acclaimed musicians of the 21st century. He has attracted both praise and criticism for his work and his controversial, outspoken public persona.
Raised in Chicago, West first became known as a producer for Roc-A-Fella Records in the early 2000s, producing hit singles for musical artists such as Jay-Z and Alicia Keys, before pursing a solo career as a rapper. In 2004, he released his debut album The College Dropout, to widespread commercial and critical success, and founded record label and management company GOOD Music. He went on to explore a variety of different musical styles on subsequent albums that included the baroque-inspired Late Registration (2005), the electronic-tinged Graduation (2007), and the starkly polarizing 808s & Heartbreak (2008). In 2010, he released his critically acclaimed fifth album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. He collaborated with Jay-Z on Watch the Throne (2011), and released his sixth album, Yeezus, to further critical praise in 2013. Following a series of recording delays and work on non-musical projects, West's seventh album, The Life of Pablo, was released in 2016.

Over 5,000 students balloted for the event which was announced 16 hours before it was due to take place and Kanye had widely been described as one of the biggest speakers that Oxford and any society in the UK has seen in the past decades. This was the most oversubscribed event at Oxford in over 15 years. The event was covered in over a thousand newspapers, magazines, websites and TV and radio outlets globally in over 100 countries (everything from BBC World News to Vice's Noisey). Guild Chairman and re-founder Abbas Kazmi hosted the event with President Rohan Arora and Vice President Irenne Ighodaro, and commented that ‘It was a true honour to be able to host and welcome Kanye to the Oxford Guild, and the reaction since the event has been huge! The event was covered in over a thousand newspapers, magazines, websites and TV and radio outlets globally in over 100 countries (everything from BBC World News and TIME to MTV and Vice's Noisey) and I had to juggle a huge number of press calls, emails and quote and interview requests! I’ve even had people emailing opportunistically to put his team in touch so they can organise their own events (the most bizarre was for someone’s 16th birthday party!) It was amazing President Obama himself commented on it on multiple occasions, let alone one, and it even featured in a Kanye song with Tyler, the Creator and Lil Wayne. It is great to see the hard work pay off after having spent many hours negotiating against the odds and keeping things under wraps to secure this event which is a real coup for the Guild, which I am proud to see continuing to grow from strength to strength, reaching even higher heights and winning ever more national best university society awards and accolades. Special thanks must to go the committee for their efforts, enthusiasm and commitment which make sure the Guild continues to be the premier university run organisation not just in Oxford but across the UK and internationally. The event was incredibly well organised and put together at short notice – the Guild has a unique, tried and tested, successful ticketing policy for its largest scale speakers and social events. We do not want students to waste their afternoons queuing outside the Union chamber in Frewin Court for example, only not to be let in and to be left disappointed. Nor do we want students to ballot and then not turn up leaving empty seats which have been taken by others. We minimised these risks by opening a random ballot list and ensuring every seat was used by those who were successful in the ballot. Never content with complacency and settling, there are plenty more high profile speakers, exciting events and developments to come - we have been working industriously behind the scenes ahead of next year and would recommend you watch this space!’

The city of Oxford is home to some 150,000 residents and a famous seat of learning, the oldest English-speaking university in the world. Although the exact date of its founding isn't known, it is said that local priests and monks were first taught in monastery schools in the area in the eleventh century.

14th century New College was the first college in Oxford for undergraduates – with an impressive chapel and hall, it is a fine example of the Perpendicular Gothic style.
As you walk along New College Lane, look up at the steeped Bridge of Sighs linking the two halves of Hertford College to New College.
Magdalen, founded in 1458, is one of the wealthiest and most beautiful of Oxford's colleges. It has a reputation as a writer’s college. Look out for its fantastic cloisters.
Two other must sees are the Bodleian Library, founded by Sir Thomas Bodley in 1565 and the Radcliffe Camera, one of the city's most photographed buildings.
Oxford also boasts some spectacular museums – amongst the best are the Ashmolean – established in 1683 it is Britain's oldest public museum and The Pitt Rivers anthropological museum.
Oxford is a vibrant city, with a wide selection of shops, hotels and restaurants. Wander through the High Street, past the Carfax Tower (with city views), make a detour to medieval Oxford Castle, continue past the Covered Market towards the Botanic Garden and the beautiful river Thames, called the Isis.
