Herald Sun’s latest teaching kit inspires with the wonder of space in Earth and Beyond — Our Solar System

WHAT are asteroids, comets and meteors? How does the Sun affect our weather and that of other planets? What is an eclipse and why does the Moon affect Earth’s tides?

There is so much to understand, learn and wonder about when it comes to space.

These questions and more we will answer in the Herald Sun’s latest educational resource as part of its News in Education program: Earth and Beyond — Our Solar System.

To really bring the subject of space to life in the classroom, the Herald Sun has teamed up with National Geographic.

During November the Herald Sun will publish a 12-part poster series that will cover topics including: Our Solar System; Space Exploration and Travel; Asteroids, Comets and Meteors; Deep Space; the Sun, the Moon and all about the planets of our solar system.

Teachers and students will have exclusive access to National Geographic documentaries at nationalgeographic.com.au

Short clips from National Geographic are complementary to many of the topics covered in the poster series.

On subscription teachers receive downloadable interactive PDF workbooks for Primary and Secondary levels that include 40 activities each to help you meet your curriculum needs in Science, Geography, Maths and English.

Order online and you can download your workbooks immediately to start planning your lessons today.

Class sets of the Herald Sun, included in the kit, will ensure your students can cut out and keep the poster material.
