Kendall Jenner reveals why she quit Instagram

Now the 21-year-old model has opened up about why she deactivated her popular account.

“I just wanted to detox. I felt like I just wanted a little bit of a break. I’m always on it. ... I would wake up in the morning and I would look at it first thing. I would go to bed and it was the last thing I would look at,” she said on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. “I felt a little too dependent on it, so I kinda wanted to take a minute to detox.”

The catwalk model set a new Instagram record last year for most likes after sharing a selfie of her hair arranged in heart shapes. It got more than 3.6 million likes.

She was unseated earlier this year by Justin Bieber when he shared an old, grainy photo of him and Selena Gomez.

Like most of her famous family, Jenner is still active on Twitter, Snapchat and Facebook. She said she hasn’t sworn off Instagram forever.

“I’ll be back. I’ll come back. It’s been two days! Withdrawals are starting to occur,” she laughed.

Jenner’s sudden Instagram deactivation made headlines around the world — much to her amusement.

“It’s so crazy to me that it even became huge news like that. Like, I have no idea how that [happened],” she said.

“I mean, like, I guess I didn’t expect it. I also took my Twitter off my phone. Like, I didn’t delete my Twitter entirely, but I took the app off my phone, so I had no idea anyone was even talking about it. I honestly didn’t even think anyone would care.

“My friends kept texting me and my family members, and I was like, How does everyone know? And they kept sending me links to, like, CNN and all these things and I was like, ‘Why is this even that big of a deal?’”

Jenner make be taking a leaf out of big sister Kim Kardashian’s book, after she withdrew from social media following her robbery in Paris.

Earlier this month, Jenner celebrated her 21st birthday in style, donning an expensive Swarovski crystal-covered dress for her star-studded bash.
