The Princess Bride is a 1973 fantasy romance novel written by William Goldman. The book combines elements of comedy, adventure, fantasy, romantic love, romance, and fairy tale. It is presented as an abridgment (or all the good parts) of the book titled "True Love and High Adventures" by S. Morgenstern, and Goldman’s "commentary" asides are constant throughout. It was originally published in the United States by Harcourt Brace then later by Random House, while in the United Kingdom it was later published by Bloomsbury.
Rob Reiner made it into a film of the same name in 1987, and Adam Guettel attempted to adapt it into a musical.
William Goldman said "I’ve gotten more responses on The Princess Bride than on everything else I’ve done put together—all kinds of strange outpouring letters. Something in The Princess Bride affects people."
In 2015 a collection of essays on the novel and the film adaptation was published entitled The Princess Bride and Philosophy.

FILM DESCRIPTION: Based on William Goldman's novel of the same name, The Princess Bride is staged as a book read by grandfather (Peter Falk) to his ill grandson (Fred Savage). Falk's character assures a romance-weary Savage that the book has much more to deliver than a simpering love story, including but not limited to fencing, fighting, torture, death, true love, giants, and pirates. Such a memorable scene, when Prince Humperdinck uses the full power of the Machine on Wesley.

My favorite moment of the film "Jesus, Grandpa!"
I was surprised Youtube did not have my favorite part of the Princess Bride, so I decided to add it myself. I just love the whole "dear god what IS that thing". When I first saw the movie I couldn't stop laughing at that. I also love the Battle of Wits, and Indigo Montoya in general, really The Princess Bride is one of my favorite movies!
I had a band of men and all they do is play for me. They come from miles around to hear a melody. Beneath the stars my ten guitars will play the song for you.

Part II in my series on wet tumbling spent brass cases to clean them before reloading. In this video I recap the first video, then move into the unboxing of a Harbor Freight Dual Drum Rotary Tumbler and finally I talk about what will be in the third part of the series when I add stainless steel tumbling media. I'm not quite certain how I managed to talk this long on this topic (a lot of repetition I guess) but if you find it to be a bit much, you can take a page from Prince Humperdinck's book and "skip to the end!" Thanks for lookin' in on me...
