Outdoor Ceremonies
The island’s church and chapel are ideal for the perfect traditional wedding ceremony. However many happy couples choose to get married in Rottnest Island's unique and stunning outdoor locations. Popular beaches with toilet facilities close-by include; The Basin, Pinkys Bay, Little Parakeet Bay, City of York, Parker Point, Fays Bay and Geordie Bay.
Rottnest Chapel
The historical Rottnest Chapel provides a unique backdrop for your wedding ceremony. Built in 1858, the chapel features white-washed walls and a stained glass window, and has capacity for up to 50 people. A church service is held every Sunday at 9.30am to which all are welcomed and the chapel is available for weddings at other times. The Rottnest Chapel is located centrally in the Thomson Bay settlement, adjacent to the Rottnest Lodge.

Holy Trinity Catholic Church
The Holy Trinity Catholic Church, on top of a hill adjacent to the main bus stop in the Thomson Bay settlement, was built in 1975. With a light and airy atmosphere, the church has a capacity of 100 people, with provision for larger groups when the full length doors on each side are opened into the secluded courtyard. A bequest made possible a chime of eightbells to replace the original single bell house in the tower. The chime consists of a musical octave and simple tunes can be played. These bells are popular at the ceremonies.

Wedding Planner
Planning the most important day of your life involves searching for a breathtakingly beautiful, yet unique location that you will cherish forever. Rottnest Island is an increasingly popular destination for weddings and is in high demand from September to April as a wedding venue.
Our Wedding Coordinator will help plan everything you need in the lead up to the wedding. For couples wanting extra help, our Wedding Coordinator is also available to assist with the logistics on the big day of the ceremony. The coordinator can ensure everything runs to plan, so that the bridal party and guests can relax and enjoy the day.
A permit is required if you are conducting your ceremony or a photo session in any location on the Island. The processing of your permit will allow the Rottnest Island Authority to inform you of any other activities planned for the locations that you have chosen, and also ensures that adequate provision is made to meet public health, safety and environmental requirements for Rottnest Island.

Reception Venues
Rottnest Island also has an array of beautiful reception venues, several boasting sweeping views of Thomson Bay. With numerous accommodation options, the island can cater for your entire wedding party.
There are a selection of venues on Rottnest Island that are ideal for your wedding reception. Suitable licensed venues include Aristos Waterfront Restaurant, Hotel Rottnest, the Rottnest Lodge and the Rottnest Island Country Club.
Aristos Waterfront Rottnest
Imagine spending your wedding overlooking breathtaking Thomson Bay, while your guests are treated to stunning ocean views and the finest quality seafood. Aristos Waterfront Restaurant specialises in creating a unique and relaxed dining experiences. Our functions manager will work closely with you to provide an unforgettable wedding experience.
Hotel Rottnest
Hotel Rottnest offers a unique experience and location for your special day. With the iconic and undisturbed view of Thompson Bay and Perth in the distance, the Thompson Bay Marquee is the perfect venue for your island wedding experience. The venue can hold up to 250 guests, and the hotel also has 18 fresh and bright rooms.
The Rottnest Lodge
The Rottnest Lodge aims to cater to your every need, working closely with you to create a perfect wedding day. Their selection of packages and diverse range of event spaces means every wedding is a tailored experience; styling the event to your personal vision.
Geordie Bay Café and Art Gallery
After something slightly different? Geordie Bay Café is a unique venue for the off peak season (outside of December to February); perfect for weddings of up to 40 people.
Rottnest Island Country Club
The recently renovated Rottnest Island Country Club is a two storey clubhouse with a function room located upstairs and extraordinary views that give an exotic feel that cannot be topped.
Special Services
Vehicle & Bus Charters
We have a range of options available to transfer guests to your ceremony and reception. Small vehicles are available for intimate photoshoots of the newlyweds’ after the ceremony. We can also arrange hire of a 34 or 43 seat bus, to move the whole bridal party. Your wedding coordinator can arrange these services when booking your wedding.
Group Tours and Activities
Want to arrange something a bit different for your guests? We can help you create an itinerary filled with activities and experiences for your wedding guests. From lighthouse climbs to Segway tours or even special welcome notes in their accommodation… there are endless options to ensure your guests have the best experience ever.

Group Accommodation

With the picturesque backdrop already taken care off, you just need to arrange your ceremony set-up. Many couples want to create their own unique atmosphere, while others prefer to have everything taken care of.
We have a range of wedding ceremony packages available to compliment your style. Our packages can also be tailored and if there is anything that we do not have, we can assist in sourcing it for you. We are also able to assist in ensuring that everything is set up on the day, so that you only need to think about getting to the ceremony on time.
