Pottsgrove High School (PGHS), built in 1955, is a public high school located in Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania that serves students in grades 9-12 from Lower Pottsgrove, Upper Pottsgrove, and West Pottsgrove townships. It is part of the Pottsgrove School District. Pottsgrove High School has a total enrollment of approximately 1,000 students. Each subject is accompanied by a citizenship mark based on a pupil's capacity for growth. This mark includes an evaluation of characteristics that are essential to personal and social development: attitude, effort, and dependability. Attitude - spirit of cooperation within the classroom, effort - be attentive, do what is required, and take advantage of the educational opportunities present, dependability - be recognized in the classroom as a responsible person. Each student will receive a grade using the following guidelines:
O = Outstanding
S = Satisfactory
U = Unsatisfactory
F = Cheating/Plagiarism
A high school (also secondary school, senior school, secondary college) is a school that provides adolescents with part or all of their secondary education. It may come after primary school or middle school and be followed by higher education or vocational training.
The term "high school" originated in Scotland, with the world's oldest high school being Edinburgh's Royal High School from 1505. The Royal High School was used as a model for the first public high school in the United States, Boston Latin School founded in Boston, Massachusetts.
The precise stage of schooling provided by a high school differs from country to country, and may vary within the same jurisdiction. In all of New Zealand and Malaysia, along with most of Britain and parts of Australia, Bangladesh and Canada, high school means the same thing as secondary school, but instead of starting in 9th grade, these "secondary schools" begin at ages 11 or 12.
In Australia, high school is a secondary school, from Year 7 or Year 8 through to Year 12, varying from state to state. High school immediately follows primary (elementary) school; therefore, a Year-7 Australian high-school student is sometimes as young as 12. In Tasmania and the Australian Capital Territory, the term "high school" generally refers to Years 7–10, whereas the term "College" is used for Years 11–12. In Victoria the term "secondary college" has largely replaced the term "high school" following the reforms of the Labor Government in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Some schools have retained the name "high school" (such as Melbourne High School) and many have now dropped the "secondary" and are simply known as "college".
A SATIRICAL piece as to why you should come to Pottsgrove High School.
One of 20 speakers during the June 7 (2016) meeting of the Pottsgrove Board of School Directors was Pottsgrove Middle School teacher Marilyn Eaton. Elimination of prayer at high school commencement exercises was its focus, and Eaton commented on how the use of social media had heightened tensions regarding the topic.
There's so many teachers I missed. What I'm trying to say is that they're all great and make Pottsgrove HS so much fun. Also, ladies...... ;)

POTTSTOWN PA -- More than 100 U.S. armed services veterans, Boy and Cub Scout troop members, and citizens who remembered all too well the horrors of wars past gathered Sunday afternoon (June 6, 2010) in Pottstown's Memorial Park to both pay homage to the area's Vietnam War heroes and to retire U.S. flags during a formal ceremony in which they were sectioned and burned. http://sanatoga.wordpress.com/2010/06/08/retiring-old-glory-with-honor/
