Karma Sushi Bar Grill’s iconic Route 66 building was the site of the San Juan Saloon, Flagstaff’s first bar, which became the Black Cat Café after Prohibition closed the saloon. Forty years later, it housed the Hong Kong Café, until 2004. Karma Sushi opened in 2006 and is celebrating 10 years as Flagstaff’s favorite spot for authentic and unique sushi, and finely-crafted spirits.
Karma honors the history of Flagstaff and Route 66 with special menu items: in celebration of Route 66’s 90th anniversary, Karma chefs created the Route 66 Roll. The menu has evolved to include grilled steaks, salmon and the amazing Karma burger, as well as house-made ramen, salads and more. View a full menu at Karmaflagstaff.com.

Take a trip through Route 66 history with the museum’s “The Road to Yesterday” special exhibit.
Few images in American culture evoke feelings, inspire writers, songwriters, movie makers, and artists quite like the open road. Few of those open roads can compete with Route 66 as the quintessential American Highway – the Mother Road. People from around the world all had many reasons for traveling this iconic highway. As you might imagine, all have experienced the road differently. Join the Pioneer Museum to look back to Arizona’s yesterdays along Route 66 exploring, searching for, and uncovering the stories of its travelers.
