Andrew Bogut ruled out of Dallas Mavericks' NBA game for 'personal reasons'

Updated

Australian star Andrew Bogut was ruled out of the Dallas Mavericks' NBA clash against the Portland Trail Blazers because of "personal reasons".

Bogut, who joined the Mavericks this season after he was traded by the Golden State Warriors, was listed among the team's injury updates before the match on Friday night (Saturday morning AEDT).

The Mavericks brought in guard J.J. Barea to replace the big Australian centre against the Trail Blazers (2-3) who had lost three of their past four matches.

Bogut has been averaging more than 10 rebounds a game for the Mavs.

It has been a dismal start to the NBA season for the Mavericks, who are yet to win a game (0-4). The trend continued on Saturday, going down to Portland 105-95, the first time in their franchise history they've lost the first five games of the NBA season.
