Peter Stefanovic is moving to 60 Minutes from the Today Show

THE Nine Network’s Peter Stefanovic will move from hosting Weekend Today to a new role at 60 Minutes next year.

Stefanovic made the announcement Friday afternoon on his social media accounts where he posted a picture of himself with 60 Minutes veteran reporters Liz Hayes and Charles Wooley.

In the caption, he wrote: “Excited to announce that next year I’ll be working alongside these two legends full time!”.

Stefanovic was the Europe, Africa, and Middle East correspondent for Nine.

He reported from the scene of major news events around the world for Nine News, the Today Show, and A Current Affair.

In 2014, he was nominated for a Walkley Award for his coverage of the war in Gaza.

He has been the co-host of Weekend Today until his move to Nine’s current affairs flagship program, 60 Minutes.

Stefanovic recently launched his first book titled ‘Hack in a Flak Jacket’, in which he details what like was like on the road for him as a foreign correspondent.

Earlier this year, he also got engaged to Today Show co-host Sylvia Jeffreys, who he began dating while co-hosting The Today Show.

Stefanovic had gotten down on one knee and proposed during the couple’s romantic European holiday earlier this year.
