How many times have you been looking around the internet and come across an image that just seems out of this world? If it involved something which seemed bizarre and extravagant and looks to have taken place in the Middle-East, chances are it happened in Dubai. Most people had never heard of this little emirate 15 years ago, yet today many of us associate it with wealth, modern design and lavish lifestyles. Of course, through the internet some characteristics of Dubai have become better known than others. Heavily modified cars, insane police vehicles, amazing structures and bizarre personal trends – these are just a few of the topics which make up a flood of amazing pictures associated with the biggest city in the United Arab Emirates.
Dubai is one of seven emirates which makes up the United Arab Emirates. Over the last several decades the city has grown considerably thanks to it being a hub for trade and commerce and the discovery of oil. That said, the emirate’s oil deposits are shrinking and expected to disappear within the next 20 years. In order to prepare for this eventuality, the government diversified its economic strategy by focussing on trade, business and tourism.
What’s there to see in Dubai? Initially, not a lot but this has changed dramatically. From virtually nothing, the city embarked on a project to create a tourist destination with no equal in the world. This has seen a major increase in construction projects throughout the emirates as new high rises, hotels, theme parks and even islands are constructed. The whole undertaking has drawn considerable attention to the emirates and resulted in a dramatic increase in business and tourism for Dubai in recent years.
The resulting boom in the economy has made a lot of people who call Dubai home very rich. In some cases, local residence are so wealthy their lifestyle can make a Hollywood star look very plain. You’ve no doubt seen pictures of the many supercars which people drive and some of the mind-blowing luxurious homes they reside in. Even the restaurants and coffee shops can reflect this wealth as demonstrated by a Starbucks that looks like a palace or a restaurant within a vast aquarium. Yes, in many cases the extravagant and the amazing come to life for all to see in Dubai.
The following video looks at some of the most amazing things you’ll only see in Dubai. In some cases, amazing may not be the best word because some things can get just a little bizarre. This should come as no surprise as the emirates has seen a coming together of Western and Middle-East cultures over the last several years. Nonetheless, each will make you stop and take notice. From cars and buildings to sports and pets, there seems to be a lot in Dubai that would look out of place even in Las Vegas. Nonetheless, after going through the following video it’s pretty obvious there are some pretty amazing things that you can only find in Dubai.

Dubai
Dubai (/duːˈbaɪ/ doo-BY; Arabic: دبي Dubayy, Gulf pronunciation: [dʊˈbɑj]) is the most populous city in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It is located on the southeast coast of the Persian Gulf and is one of the seven emirates that make up the country. Abu Dhabi and Dubai are the only two emirates to have veto power over critical matters of national importance in the country's legislature. The city of Dubai is located on the emirate's northern coastline and heads up the Dubai-Sharjah-Ajman metropolitan area. Dubai is to host World Expo 2020.
Dubai has emerged as a global city and business hub of the Middle East. It is also a major transport hub for passengers and cargo. By the 1960s Dubai's economy was based on revenues from trade and, to a smaller extent, oil exploration concessions, but oil was not discovered until 1966. Oil revenue first started to flow in 1969. Dubai's oil revenue helped accelerate the early development of the city, but its reserves are limited and production levels are low: today, less than 5% of the emirate's revenue comes from oil. The emirate's Western-style model of business drives its economy with the main revenues now coming from tourism, aviation, real estate, and financial services. Dubai has recently attracted world attention through many innovative large construction projects and sports events. The city has become iconic for its skyscrapers and high-rise buildings, in particular the world's tallest building, the Burj Khalifa. Dubai has been criticised for human rights violations concerning the city's largely South Asian workforce. Dubai's property market experienced a major deterioration in 2008–09 following the financial crisis of 2007–08, but the emirate's economy has made a return to growth, with a projected 2015 budget surplus.

In order to prepare for this eventuality, the government diversified its economic strategy by focussing on trade, business and tourism. What’s there to see in Dubai? Initially, not a lot but this has changed dramatically. From virtually nothing, the city embarked on a project to create a tourist destination with no equal in the world. This has seen a major increase in construction projects throughout the emirates as new high rises, hotels, theme parks and even islands are constructed. The whole undertaking has drawn considerable attention to the emirates and resulted in a dramatic increase in business and tourism for Dubai in recent years. The resulting boom in the economy has made a lot of people who call Dubai home very rich. In some cases, local residence are so wealthy their lifestyle can make a Hollywood star look very plain. You’ve no doubt seen pictures of the many supercars which people drive and some of the mind-blowing luxurious homes they reside in. Even the restaurants and coffee shops can reflect this wealth as demonstrated by a Starbucks that looks like a palace or a restaurant within a vast aquarium. Yes, in many cases the extravagant and the amazing come to life for all to see in Dubai. The following video looks at some of the most amazing things you’ll only see in Dubai. In some cases, amazing may not be the best word because some things can get just a little bizarre. This should come as no surprise as the emirates has seen a coming together of Western and Middle-East cultures over the last several years. Nonetheless, each will make you stop and take notice. If it involved something which seemed bizarre and extravagant and looks to have taken place in the Middle-East, chances are it happened in Dubai. Most people had never heard of this little emirate 15 years ago, yet today many of us associate it with wealth, modern design and lavish lifestyles. Of course, through the internet some characteristics of Dubai have become better known than others. Heavily modified cars, insane police vehicles, amazing structures and bizarre personal trends – these are just a few of the topics which make up a flood of amazing pictures associated with the biggest city in the United Arab Emirates.
Dubai is one of seven emirates which makes up the United Arab Emirates. Over the last several decades the city has grown considerably thanks to it being a hub for trade and commerce and the discovery of oil. That said, the emirate’s oil deposits are shrinking and expected to disappear within the next 20 years. In order to prepare for this eventuality, the government diversified its economic strategy by focussing on trade, business and tourism.
What’s there to see in Dubai? Initially, not a lot but this has changed dramatically. From virtually nothing, the city embarked on a project to create a tourist destination with no equal in the world. This has seen a major increase in construction projects throughout the emirates as new high rises, hotels, theme parks and even islands are constructed. The whole undertaking has drawn considerable attention to the emirates and resulted in a dramatic increase in business and tourism for Dubai in recent years.
The resulting boom in the economy has made a lot of people who call Dubai home very rich. In some cases, local residence are so wealthy their lifestyle can make a Hollywood star look very plain. You’ve no doubt seen pictures of the many supercars which people drive and some of the mind-blowing luxurious homes they reside in. Even the restaurants and coffee shops can reflect this wealth as demonstrated by a Starbucks that looks like a palace or a restaurant within a vast aquarium. Yes, in many cases the extravagant and the amazing come to life for all to see in Dubai.
The following video looks at some of the most amazing things you’ll only see in Dubai. In some cases, amazing may not be the best word because some things can get just a little bizarre. This should come as no surprise as the emirates has seen a coming together of Western and Middle-East cultures over the last several years. Nonetheless, each will make you stop and take notice. From cars and buildings to sports and pets, there seems to be a lot in Dubai that would look out of place even in Las Vegas. Nonetheless, after going through the following video it’s pretty obvious there are some pretty amazing things that you can only find in Dubai.

United Arab Emirates is one country that was on the top of my bucket list. I always thought it was be a really cool place to visit for a honeymoon but when I found an amazing deal, I could not resist! I visited Abu Dhabi and Dubai with 12 of my friends and brother in March. The experience was much greater than I expected. I stayed for only 4 days but I got to experience some of the top must see sights and experiences. I really would love to go back to Dubai and Abu Dhabi for at least a full week to really experience the local culture...but until then watch my 4 day experience as I take you to:

United Arab Emirates is one country that was on the top of my bucket list. Maritime life has always played a significant role in the lives of those who live on the Arabian Gulf. With its triangular sails and a design that has remained unchanged for thousands of years, the dhow still sails these waters. Hundreds of them lie at anchor close to the old town on the banks of Dubai Creek.
No other city in the United Arab Emirates possesses so many fascinating contrasts. But the past is gradually merging with the present and portrays a new and harmonious image. Dubai's impressive silhouette is in stark contrast to the desert sand and sparkling sea.
The Deira district owes its prosperity to the various souks that were established there in the 19th century. At this time, Dubai was already an important trading city with almost 7,000 inhabitants. The number of stalls in the souk rose to more than 300 and a modest tax was imposed for the coffers of the local Sheikh.
Amid the desert surroundings, in front of the city gates, is the Nad Al Sheba Camel Course where the intrepid creatures of the desert are trained during the winter months and where the jockeys are young boys from Somalia and Pakistan.
Dusty gravel roads lead into the Hajar Mountains, part of the splendid mountain landscape in the eastern section of the Emirates.

An awe-inspiring engineering feat, Dubai Palm Islands is definitely the largest artificial islands on earth. These Islands are three man made islands in the form of massive palm trees connected to the beaches of Dubai. The first island is the Palm Jumeirah, Jebel Ali Palm second and the third is the Palm Deira which is the biggest of them all. This artificial archipelago located off the coastline of United Arab Emirates in Persian Gulf.
Dubai islands project was commissioned by Sheikh Mohammed in an effort to maximize beachfront property. Dubai's palm tree-shaped resort island on land built from the sea will contribute 120 km of beaches. Aside from the construction of the ambitious expansion, there is also the problem of constructing a mini city, which consists of 4,500 high-end residential homes, miles of roads, luxurious hotels and many amenities that will require basic human resources including electricity, safe drinking water and many more. This enormous project will position Dubai as one of the top tourist destinations in the world.
I will tell you why these islands have appeared and that they must satisfy. Dubai is an emirate that open sea about 50 km (an estimate) and the sites required for building projects are on the beach. To view course and especially to "park" in front of the yacht's property or even assembly.

The Palm Islands are artificial peninsulas constructed of sand dredged from the bottom of the Persian Gulf by the Belgian company Jan De Nul and the Dutch company Van Oord.
The sand is sprayed by the dredging ships, which are guided by DGPS, onto the required area in a process known as rain-bowing because of the arcs in the air when the sand is sprayed. The outer edge of each Palm's encircling crescent is a large rock breakwater. The breakwater of the Palm Jumeirah has over seven million tons of rock.
The Palm Islands are an artificial archipelago (islands) in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Major commercial and residential infrastructures will be constructed by Nakheel Properties, a property developer in The UAE. The Belgian and Dutch dredging and marine contractors, Jan De Nul and Van Oord, some of the world's specialists in land reclamation, were hired to complete construction. The islands are the Palm Jumeirah, the Palm Jebel Ali and the Palm Deira.
Each settlement will be in the shape of a palm tree, topped with a crescent. The settlements will have a large number of residential, leisure and entertainment centers. The Palm Islands are located off the coast of The UAE in the Persian Gulf and will add 520 kilometers of beaches to the city of Dubai.
The first two islands will comprise of approximately 100 million cubic meters of rock and sand. The Palm Deira will be composed of approximately one billion cubic meters of rock and sand. All materials will be quarried in The UAE. Among the three islands, there will be over 100 luxury hotels, exclusive residential beach side villas and apartments, marinas, water theme parks, restaurants, shopping malls, sports facilities and health spas.
The creation of the Palm Jumeirah began in June 2001. Shortly after, the Palm Jebel Ali was announced and reclamation work began. The Palm Deira is planned to have a surface area of 46.35 square kilometers and was announced for development in October 2004.
