Part 1 http://www.nupuraudio.com/index.asp http://www.nupuraudio.com/contactus.asp Nupur Marketing Inc. started it's operations at the dawn of new millennium, under the expert management of its director, Rajesh Gupta. The company has come up leaps and bounds in a short span of time. Known for its wide range, Nupur audio has made its presence felt in the music industry and has captured a respectable share in the music market. It all started with introduction of Karaoke music and the company became known for its huge range of quality Karaoke versions from Mohd. Rafi to Sonu Nigam. Another stepping stone on the road to success was the introduction of works by the greatest Qawwali exponent of the century, Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, in both audio and video formats. Nupur Audio is the first company to launch video CDs of the works of Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and that too at an unbelievable price. The Classical & Ghazals Repertoire was further enriched with the introduction of masters of their art Ghulam Ali, Mehdi Hassan, Abida Parween, Farida Khanum, Iqbal Bano, Shaukat Ali and many more. This was followed by collaboration with reputed companies such as Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan Academy (London), EMP London, Reliance Ent. Ltd (Plus Music), Bally Sagoo's Ishq Records. Nupur Audio has also collaborated with SM Gold of Mr. S.M.Sadiq (renowned lyricist from Pakistan). Bally Sagoo, the King of Remixes, again made his presence felt in the music arena with his path breaking album 'HANJI' and has released many more titles on Nupur Audio since then. Nupur Audio is known for introducing the British Hip Hop Music in India and has to its credit many hit albums of NRI artists, including B21, Rishi Rich, Panjabi MC, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, DCS (Shin), Bee2, Taj-E, Afshan and many more. Sanyasi (1975) Choron Ka Maal Sab Chor Kha Gayeh !
Sanyasi is a 1975 Hindi film directed by Sohanlal Kanwar, and starring Manoj Kumar and Hema Malini as leads. Synopsis Ram (Manoj Kumar): In a gorgeous place stays a sanyasi - a religious minded young man who runs away from the wedding nupitals. Aarti (Hema Malini): Today's Menaka. Yesterday's Menaka tried to disturb Vishwamitra's communion with god and today's Menaka Aarti tries to distract Ram's mind away from his religious thoughts. She adopts many disguises and agrees to do what one least expects a noble, attractive and good girl like her to attempt. Renuka Devi (Sulochana): Ram's mother. Her husband ruined his life while he was still young, because of drinking and womanising. Not wanting her son to be like his father, she has kept Ram surrounded by a religious atmosphere since his childhood. The result is that Ram grows up to be different from all other young men - a true sanyasi. Girdhari and Banwari: The robbers. They have entered Ram's house in disguise as his uncle and cousin, posing as father and son. They have taken the place of Renuka Devi's brother and his son who died in a train accident. Ram's mother embraces them as her long separated brother and nephew, but does not know that these two devils are here to swindle her belongings and happiness. Shanti Baba: A true sanyasi. Who can kill the soul that lives only to bring happiness to others? The most unforgettable screen character you will ever come across, the true sanyasi who lays down his life in order to rescue a helpless woman from the clutches of Mangal Singh. Ishwar Baba: A fraud, a blot on the very noble trible of a saffron-clad sanyasi. He is, in fact, evil dacoit Mangal Singh, a murderer, rapist and drunkard. But in day time he poses as a racluse and pretends to perform miracles to impress the unsuspecting devotees.- published: 29 Nov 2011

Synopsis:
Set amidst the crushing mayhem of a frighteningly overpopulated India, one human being struggles to live a simple life in silence. For the past 12 years, a Hindu ascetic has haunted the raced streets practicing his quiet austerity. In a world of inter-connectivity he is a Mauni Baba: Silent Monk.
Untouchable and stricken with a level of poverty that few in the west could comprehend, he drifts through an underworld of backward social castes and discarded refuse. With quiet comical musings he achieves basic survival, and in the eyes of God, maybe something more.
Photographed over a one-year period, and without narration, this film takes an anthropological approach to reveal the not so quiet daily life of a man that few of us would dare to trade places with.

The film is a series of slow moving vignettes captured from his daily life over a 3 month period in 2000. These images reveal a man's life during a incredible time of change and allow the viewer to contemplate the larger religious, moral and cultural ramifications of this change.

Maha Kumbh Mela Ascetics with Cameras: mission # 1 - promo video
Most (travel) photographers who venture to the Kumbh Mela, India or any where foreign to them in general, tend to photograph anonymously. That is, it’s quite the norm to take pictures of people with out knowing who they are, much less actually consider what's in it for the subject. Furthermore few photographers make considerable effort to give a copy of the image to their subject.
Something very important to Ascetics with Cameras mission is ensuring the ascetics receive the photos they pose for.
“In a way I’ve also acted as somewhat like a liaison between Juna Akhara and others with cameras. I make sure to give them my card with email so they can email me the photos and I can print it for them, trying to explain to them how important it is for them, at least they can get something out of it. I have begun to see more and more photographers giving their photos back to their subjects. I certainly hope this trend picks up.” – founder / director, Nicole Jaquis
Ascetics with Cameras (free of cost to the receiver) gives prints to the ascetics photographed (by a various photographers using digital cameras), during the Kumbh Mela and thereafter. Your monetary donation makes this possible:
• donations can be safely made via paypal

This is a project I started at the 2004 Kumbh Mela (largest gathering in the history of the world) in Ujjain, and has been on going ever since. This will be the 4th Kumbh Mela where I will be conducting all aspects of multimedia seva for Juna Akhara (the oldest and largest order of male & female naga sanyasis).
- mission #1 - giving away as many photos as possible
Your support is greatly appreciated. http://www.relativelylocal.com/awc/support
