As night falls, a religious cult descends upon the research facility to destroy the newfound evidence that could disprove their dogma. Things spiral into a nightmare of fanaticism as we witness the lengths to which some people will go to defend their beliefs. FUNDAMENTAL is a self-funded co-production of two independent New Zealand film companies; Unlit Vistas and ApeOnAWhale. A micro-budget production, it is a demonstration of what this creative and motivated team could achieve with limited time and resources. It was filmed in eight days, with a total budget of US$4,700. FUNDAMENTAL is the feature film debut of director Bill Hunt. He brings twenty years of practical effects, design and on-set experience on films such as JASON GOES TO HELL: THE FINAL FRIDAY, PULP FICTION, FROM DUSK TILL DAWN, THE X-FILES: FIGHT THE FUTURE and Peter Jackson's KING KONG, and THE HOBBIT and THE LORD OF THE RINGS trilogies. The ensemble cast includes Lawrence Makoare (LORD OF THE RINGS, DIE ANOTHER DAY) and Sam LaHood (30 DAYS OF NIGHT, LORD OF THE RINGS).
