Sanremo

Sanremo or San Remo [san ˈremo] (Ligurian: Sanrœmu) is a city on the Mediterranean coast of western Liguria in north-western Italy. Founded in Roman times, it has a population of 57,000, and is known as a tourist destination on the Italian Riviera. It hosts numerous cultural events, such as the Sanremo Music Festival and the Milan–San Remo cycling classic.

Name

The name of the city is a phonetic contraction of Sant'Eremo di San Romolo, which refers to Romulus of Genoa, the successor to Syrus of Genoa. It is often stated in modern folk stories that Sanremo is a translation of "Saint Remo", a deceased Saint. In Ligurian, his name is San Rœmu. The spelling San Remo is on all ancient maps of Liguria, the ancient Republic of Genoa, Italy in the Middle Ages, the Kingdom of Sardinia, and the Kingdom of Italy. It was used in 1924 in official documents under Mussolini. This form of the name appears still on some road signs and, more rarely, in unofficial tourist information. It has been the most widely used form of the name in English at least since the 19th century.

Un, dos, tres... responda otra vez

Un, dos, tres... responda otra vez (English: One, two, three... respond again), often shortened as Un, dos, tres, and named Un, dos, tres... a leer esta vez (English: One, two, three... time to read) in the last season, was a Spanish game show created by Narciso Ibáñez Serrador. The show, which ran from 1972 to 2004 spanning ten seasons, became the most famous game show in the history of Spanish television. It also was the first television show exported outside of Spain, with versions aired in the United Kingdom, Portugal, the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium.

Structure

Serrador (alias Chicho) created the show as a mixture of different traditional game show formats. It included a quiz show section as the first round (called the question round), physical competitions as the second round (called the eliminatory round), and luck and psychological games as the third round (called the auction). The show derives its name from these three parts (un, dos, tres means "one, two, three"). Contestants consisted of three couples. Each show had a theme focused on a specific topic, such as the French Revolution.

Ricky Martin

Enrique Martín Morales (born December 24, 1971), commonly known as Ricky Martin, is a Puerto Rican-Spanish singer, actor, and author. Martin began his career at age twelve with the all-boy pop group Menudo. After five years with the group, he released several Spanish-language solo albums throughout the 1990s. He also acted on stage and on TV in Mexico, becoming a modest star in the country. In 1994 he starred on the American TV soap opera General Hospital, playing a Puerto Rican singer.

In late 1999, after releasing several albums in Spanish, Martin performed "The Cup of Life" at the 41st Grammy Awards show, which became a catalyst in bringing Latin pop to the forefront of the U.S. music scene. Following its success, Martin released "Livin' la Vida Loca" which helped him obtain enormous success worldwide and is generally seen as the song that began the Latin pop explosion of 1999 and made the transition easier for other Spanish-speaking artists to move into the English-speaking market. Since it's release, the song has sold over 8 million copies, making it one of the best selling singles of all time. His first English-language album (also titled Ricky Martin), has sold 22 million copies and is one of the best selling albums of all time. His other studio albums include: Me Amarás (1993), A Medio Vivir (1995), Vuelve (1998), Sound Loaded (2000), Almas del Silencio (2003), Life (2005), Música + Alma + Sexo (2011) and A Quien Quiera Escuchar (2015).

Sanremo Music Festival

The Festival della canzone italiana di Sanremo (in English: Italian song festival, Sanremo) is the most popular Italian song contest and awards, held annually in the city of Sanremo, in Italy, and consisting of a competition amongst previously unreleased songs. Usually referred to as Festival di Sanremo, or outside Italy as Sanremo Music Festival or Sanremo Music Festival Award, it was the inspiration for the Eurovision Song Contest.

It is the music equivalent to the Premio Regia Televisiva for television, the Premio Ubu for stage performances, and the Premio David di Donatello for motion pictures, but with a longer history and contest associated with.

The first edition of the Sanremo Music Festival, held between 29 and 31 January 1951, was broadcast by RAI's radio station Rete Rossa and its only three participants were Nilla Pizzi, Achille Togliani and Duo Fasano. Starting from 1955 all the editions of the Festival have been broadcast live by the Italian TV station Rai 1.

A Quien Quiera Escuchar

A Quien Quiera Escuchar (English: To Those Who Want to Listen) is the tenth studio album by Puerto Rican recording artist Ricky Martin. It was released on February 10, 2015, through Sony Music Latin.

Background

Martin's ninth studio album, Música + Alma + Sexo was released by Sony Music Latin in February 2011. It peaked at number three on the United States Billboard 200 and received a platinum certification in the Latin field by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), indicating shipments of over 100,000 copies in the country. In the following years, Martin was chosen to be a coach on The Voice in Australia; while being part of the show, he released Greatest Hits: Souvenir Edition (2013) and embarked on Ricky Martin Live tour in the country. Additionally, he released several singles including "Adrenalina", a collaboration with Wisin and Jennifer Lopez, and "Vida" included in the One Love, One Rhythm – The 2014 FIFA World Cup Official Album.

In late December 2014, using his social network sites, in a video, Martin revealed that the name of the album is going to be A Quien Quiera Escuchar and that it will be released on February 10, 2015, "We're going to have a very interesting year full of music, partying and romantic times". In another video he unveiled the track list for the record while writing the names of the songs on a paper.
