Buck Rogers is a 1939 Universal serial film starring Buster Crabbe (who had previously played the title character in two Flash Gordon serials and would return for a third in 1940) as the eponymous hero, Constance Moore, Jackie Moran and Anthony Warde. It was based on the Buck Rogers character created by Philip Francis Nowlan, which had appeared in magazines and comic strips since 1928.
The story begins with Buck Rogers (Buster Crabbe) and Buddy Wade (Jackie Moran) in the midst of a dirigible flight over the North Pole. They are caught in a savage storm and crash - but not before they release an experimental substance called Nirvano Gas that they hope will preserve them until rescue can arrive. The Nirvano Gas works, but the dirigible is buried in an avalanche and is not found until 500 years have passed. When Buck and Buddy are found, they awaken to a world ruled by the ruthless dictator, Killer Kane (Anthony Warde), and his army of "super-racketeers". Only those who live in the "Hidden City", run by the benevolent scientist Dr. Huer (C. Montague Shaw) and his military counterpart, Air Marshal Kragg (William Gould), resist the criminal rulers of Earth.

This Buck Rogers film short was made for the 1934 Chicago World's Fair by the owner of the comic strip. The amateurish acting and effects make for a modern "camp" classic. Read more about the film at http://caferoxy.blogspot.com/ www.fesfilms.com

First off, I did not create or have any doing in making this video. This is the original intro from the "Pilot" / "Movie" that brought Buck to our tv sets. Now I grew up with Buck and still enjoy the show, but you have to admit, that this intro is just a bit..."Cheezy" if you will. But at least we get to learn the words to the theme song "Suspension" Written by Glen Larson, and Sung by Kipp Lennon....Enjoy!!!

A chase-view shoot'em up.
Recorded with BB Flashback Pro. Game published 1992 by SSI (Never re-released on CD-ROM; presumed abandonware). Our veteran character team from "Buck Rogers: Countdown to Doomsday" returns for the sequel, and now reports to Buck Rogers himself for their mission assignments. Not only did we get to import all of our personal gear from the first game - there's more nice stuff in our ship's equipment locker, too! :) Since we don't need most of the "equipment locker" stuff (although a newly-created team certainly would), the first place we head to at Caloris spaceport (orbiting Mercury) is an equipment shop, to sell off the excess and buy ammo.
In the 1930s, Universal released Buck Rogers as a 12-part serial in theaters. In the 1950s, their attempts to make new and interesting programming quashed by the destruction of most rocket cars and jetpacks in The Great War 2 (Hitler Bugaloo), they re-released their timeless epic serial again... this time, edited down into a borderline incomprehensible motion picture. In the 2010s, CFTP - not knowing what they were getting themselves into, re-re-released the same serial, this time as an episode of their show. These... are the results. We're sorry/you're welcome. http://www.cftp.us
