Alaskan Roads,The Alaska Command Federal Credit Union was founded in 1948 for military personnel and federal employees stationed in Alaska.[4] The credit union provided services to military bases throughout Alaska. The construction of the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System in the 1970s led to a surge in the credit union's membership and they gained 25,000 new members. Alaska USA received Congressional authority to provide services to Alaska Native Regional Corporations in the same decade. Alaska USA adopted its current name in 1975.
In June 2009, Alaska USA purchased certain assets and assumed the shares and certain liabilities of High Desert Federal Credit Union of Apple Valley, California, which had been placed into conservatorship by the NCUA board on October 18, 2008.[5]

The construction of the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System in the 1970s led to a surge in the credit union's membership and they gained 25,000 new members. Alaska USA received Congressional authority to provide services to Alaska Native Regional Corporations in the same decade. Alaska USA adopted its current name in 1975.
In June 2009, Alaska USA purchased certain assets and assumed the shares and certain liabilities of High Desert Federal Credit Union of Apple Valley, California, which had been placed into conservatorship by the NCUA board on October 18, 2008.[5]
