Bollywood

Bollywood is the sobriquet for the Hindi language film industry, based in Mumbai, the capital of Maharashtra, the second most populous state of the Republic of India. The term is often incorrectly used as a synecdoche to refer to the whole of Indian cinema; however, it is only a part of the large Indian film industry, which includes other production centres producing films in many languages.

Bollywood is one of the largest film producers in India, representing 43% of net box office revenue, while Telugu cinema, and Tamil cinema representing 36%, and rest of the regional cinema constitutes 21% as of 2014, bollywood is also one of the largest centers of film production in the world. It is more formally referred to as Hindi cinema. Bollywood is classified as the biggest movie industry in the world in terms of amount of people employed and number of films produced. In just 2011 alone, over 3.5 billion tickets were sold across the globe which in comparison is 900,000 tickets more than Hollywood. Also in comparison, Bollywood makes approximately 1,041 films yearly, as opposed to less than 500 films made by Hollywood yearly.

Ajay Devgan

Vishal Veeru Devgan (born 2 April 1969), known as Ajay Devgan and sometimes spelt Ajay Devgn, is an Indian Bollywood actor, film director and producer. He is widely considered as one of the finest and most popular actors of Hindi cinema. He has won numerous awards, including two National Film Awards as Best Actor. He has been honoured by the Government of India with the Padma Shri in 2016. He is the son of director and action director Veeru Devgan.

Devgan began his professional career with Phool Aur Kaante in 1991 and received a Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut for his performance. He then starred in successful films such as Jigar (1992), Dilwale (1994), Suhaag (1994), Naajayaz (1995), Diljale (1996) and Ishq (1997). In 1998, he appeared in a critically acclaimed performance in Mahesh Bhatt's drama Zakhm and he received his first National Film Award for Best Actor for his role in the movie. Minissha Lamba

Minissha Lamba (born 18 January 1985) is an Indian actress who appears in Hindi films. She made her debut with Yahaan (2005). Her other notable films include Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd. (2007), Bachna Ae Haseeno (2008), Well Done Abba (2009) and Bheja Fry 2 (2011).

Early life

Minisha Lamba was born in a Punjabi-speaking Sikh family to Kewal Lamba and Manju Lamba in New Delhi in 1985. She studied at Chettinad Vidyashram School, Chennai for a year and then shifted to Army Public School, Srinagar where she completed her schooling. She majored in English (Hons.) from Miranda House University of Delhi.,

Career

Minissha was inspired by the bravery of CNN journos as a teenager. While studying for English (Hons.) Degree in Delhi University, she was offered to model in ad campaigns like LG, Sony, Cadbury, Hajmola, Airtel, Sunsilk etc. She was also a part of the Femina's Generation "W" ad. During an ad shoot for Cadbury she was approached by Bollywood director, Shoojit Sircar, who signed her to act in his film Yahaan (2005). She had begun filming for Yahaan while still in Miranda House college.
