Aaron Tyler (born May 22, 1967), better known by his stage name MC Eiht, is an American hip hop recording artist from Compton, California. Many of his songs are based on his life in Compton. His stage name was partly inspired by the numeral in KRS-One's name. He chose Eiht for its links to "hood culture", including Olde English 800 (8 Ball) and .38 caliber firearms. He is the de facto leader of West Coast hip hop group Compton's Most Wanted, which also included fellow Compton-based rappers Boom Bam, Tha Chill, DJ Mike T, DJ Slip and Ant Capone. He is also known for his role in the 1993 film Menace II Society.
Tyler grew to fame on the West Coast as one of two MCs in the four-man crew, Compton's Most Wanted. After enjoying increasing success with the group, which peaked with 1992's Music to Driveby, Eiht took a role in the hit movie Menace II Society as well as a high-profile spot on the soundtrack. The song, "Streiht Up Menace," which chronicles the unfortunate downturn of the film's protagonist within the pathological conditions of American inner city life, is considered by many critics to be Eiht's magnum opus. The movie spurred him into a solo career, although his next two albums We Come Strapped and Death Threatz would be accredited as MC Eiht featuring Compton's Most Wanted. These albums were considered his best and took place during the most tense years of the 'beef' between Eiht and DJ Quik, Eiht's childhood friends Boom Bam and Tha Chill of N.O.T.R were heavily involved with both albums and the Quik beef, there are several explicit remarks towards Quik made on these albums by E, Bam and Chill. E was also associated with W 159th St Tragniew Park Compton Crips.

MC Eiht opens up about celebrities and their gang affiliation during this interview with DJ Vlad. The Compton native and Crip member talks about knowing Tupac and explains how his connection with gangs led to his demise. The rapper says that Tupac began stamping himself with the Mob Piru in hopes to show loyalty, but says the star didn't have to prove anything. "It's certain things that you don't do just to want to belong." He explained that it was always Pac's choice, but nonetheless, he didn't have to pursue that lifestyle, "They shouldn't like you no better if you were a rapper or if—hey, now you got to put this rag in your back pocket." Nearly 20 years after Tupac's death, singer Chris Brown is now in a similar position for his affiliation with Bloods. The Tappahannock, VA. native wa...

Though MC Eiht and DJ Quik are now amicable with one another, they had an infamous beef that lasted nearly six years. In a recent sit-down with VladTV, the "Streiht Up Menace" rapper gets candid about the vicious back and forth he had with Quik. Eiht cites the tension between him and Quik as a byproduct of the pair's rival Blood and Crip affiliations. The Compton rapper says the beef popped off after the release of his song, "Def Wish." Eiht spits the line "Biting me quick will mean you get my d*** sucked quick." Though Eiht claims "he never knew who he was," because Quik was a Blood many took the wordplay as a direct shot at the rapper. DJ Quik later responded to the line on his demo tape with a personal threat to Eiht, whom Quik wrongly thought called him out. The beef ensued for years...

http://www.vladtv.com - During the crack epidemic in Compton, California, there was "money to be made," and MC Eiht did just that - but only for a short time. "It wasn't my thing," he relayed to DJ Vlad. "My perfect example is everybody can't be doctors [or] lawyers, everybody can't be football players, [and] everybody can't be rappers [or] producers. But I think at that time it was an experience I had to go through because I was gangbanging." Speaking further on the drug, MC Eiht added "it was a way for you to be different from the rest of the pack. We all gangbang, but then crack set you a part." Listen as MC Eiht shares his background story above.
In 1993, Tupac Shakur was picked to play Sharif, a college-bound Muslim, in Menace II Society, however, after disputes with the directors about gaining a hardcore role, he decided to ditch the movie. In an interview with MC Eiht, who played A-Wax in the film, he explained to DJ Vlad why Tupac gave up the infamous role. "Pac had a problem with that role because it didn't depict him like the rest of us." He said, "In our circle everybody was gang banging killers, except him." Watch the full interview above.
In this exclusive clip rapper MC Eiht recalls hearing his first rap song, becoming a part of the movement, and how his new career tied into his gangbanging ways. In comparison to today, the early 90's was a gangster rapper's time to shine, and MC Eiht made sure his name was put in that category. He began listening to a variety of New York-based hip-hop after hearing "It's Like That" by Run DMC, the first hip-hop track he'd ever listened to. "And then from there when I first heard Eric B and Rakim ["Eric B. Is President"], that's when I knew rap music was real," he explained to DJ Vlad. "So I started thinking about, you know, how can some young gangbanging dudes from Compton even fit into this world?" The rest, as we all know, is history.

MC Eiht - Interview @ Yo MTV Raps 1994 (HQ)
MC Eiht exclusively spoke to DJ Vlad about Suge Knight's successful days as a rap mogul to now facing a murder charge for a deadliy hit-and-run. The Compton native suggested that Suge's success may have gotten him caught up in his recent trial, "Money and power will side-track the s*** out of you if you ain't the type of mother f***** who knows how to handle power and money." Despite seeing most people in the industry get swallowed up by their fame and fortune, he says people should remain grounded and remember their roots. Watch the full interview above.

Geah
Geah
Geah
Hoo-bang, nigga
Some of that futuristic shit
For that ass
Keepin it thuggish, though
Check it out
[ verse 1 ]
The concrete streets bring heat, it's so rough
Niggas test everyday, calling your bluff
Eiht had enough, I'm smoking my fluff
Spitting game, letting you know my turf is tough
My theme is I push music to driveby
I slide through, scoop up four and ride high
Strap under the seat my hood technique
As I destroy your block like _dante's peak_
Feel me, partly a killer, clocker for fun
On my turf puttin in work since day one
Y'all ain't heard enough about a nigga singin the blues
Niggas bendin in two's while y'all watch the news
John walsh, wash me up, you're crazy
Havin my face captured 180
Can't go there, ain't havin that, man, fuck
The strap turned me corrupt, so prepare to duck
[ chorus ]
Sometimes in the hood it's so rough
That makes niggas from the hood stay tough
Slings packs, pack straps, quarters and halfs
16, double the stash, you do the math(2x)
[ verse 2 ]
I guess my mind's on the track, gotta get me a stack
And in fact, homebody, you know what gun I pack
Keeps y'all enemies close that stay cheatin
When they ask make fast and start heatin
Niggas ain't fuckin around - dodge mine
Drop yours, bitch, and lay that ass down
Keep your face to the ground, don't even look
No positive I'd and all the money was took
Shook the hell up out the spot and kept away from snitches
Took a trip across town just to floss my riches
Bitches turn into niggas and start yappin
One more hit on your house where y'all nappin
Dumpin one, catch you in the midnight, the late night hour
The hollow point shower
The sweet success thatt you taste has got sour
Straight, eiht regulate my thug power
[ chorus ]
[ verse 3 ]
My niggas disappoint me thinkin y'all can fade it
Still player-hated, wishin y'all made it
Stay down, hoo-bangin niggas takin over
G's in lows puttin holes up in a rover
Told ya, stop tryin to walk in our shoes
Real thugs hail from the west, first rule
In fact, we the first bloods and crips
First niggas to drive by sendin tricks on trips
First niggas to hit yo town and set up shop
Bring the prices down low, y'all pick the rest to cop
Copy cats, now y'all dippin lows with heats
Pepetratin fresh coast, tryin to roll our streets
Hate your sight, catch you on a red-eye flight
Commence the sweatin the groove just for spite
Lucky though, I give you a pass and let you go
I'ma catch you on the road at another rap show
[ chorus ]
Geah
Hoo-bang, nigga
That makes niggas from the turf stay tough
Geah
Westside, you know
Sometimes in the hood it's so rough
Geah, you know what we do
