Suspected robber dead after car crash

Police suspect a driver who died in a fiery crash west of Brisbane had been involved in a pair of robberies just minutes earlier.

The man, in his 20s, was reportedly thrown free from the car when it rolled at the intersection of Albert and Audrey streets in Goodna about 2.25am on Thursday.

Police suspected the man was behind the robbery of a taxi driver in a car park on nearby Church Street five minutes earlier and the robbery of a service station about 10 minutes before that.

They later confirmed they weren't looking for any other suspects in relation to the robberies.

The road fatality came after a woman died following a crash in Jimboomba about 10.30pm on Wednesday.

Police said the car, driven by a woman in her 20s, hit a tree after leaving the Mount Lindesay Highway.
