A short story of a little creature named Comet, who becomes lost on a strange planet and tries to find his way home. Along the way, he is faced with many challenges, but also becomes friends with a young boy who is dealing with the same issues of finding trouble fitting in and loneliness. Comet must then make a choice to stay with the boy or to leave and continue his quest in order to find his true home. A short film by Dan and Derek Morrow. Narrated by Shoo Rayner. Frame by frame. Every single little detail was hand made. Even the posters on the wall are actually artwork and drawings that my brother and I made. One poster is even a picture of a giant monster, stop motion short that we made a couple of years ago for fun. All of the details are there for a reason such as the names of the books on the floor (which might be hard to see), his toys, his clothing, the loft, the halloween masks, the strange creatures on Comet's home planet, and a million others. Each object has a purpose and has a relation to our lives in one way or another. Fun Fact: The homage to Rudolph. If you pause and crop in a certain way, the scene where Comet is looking at a snowman towards the end, you will see that it is matched and set up the exact same way as a snowman scene in the stop motion film "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer". The narrator of this film is the multitalented author and artist, Shoo Rayer. My brother and I have been watching his videos for a couple of years now and always thought his voice would be perfect for a narration. (This was before we started anything.) Fast-forward a couple years and here we have a short film that he narrated for us. We can't thank him enough for doing such a great job!
