Nas
Nasir bin Olu Dara Jones (/nɑːˈsɪər/; born September 14, 1973), better known as Nas /ˈnɑːz/, is an American rapper, songwriter, entrepreneur, record producer and actor. The son of jazz musician Olu Dara, Nas has released eight consecutive platinum and multi-platinum albums and sold over 25 million records worldwide since 1994. He is also an entrepreneur through his own record label; he serves as associate publisher of Mass Appeal magazine and is the owner of a Fila sneaker store. He is currently signed to Mass Appeal Records.
His musical career began in 1991 when he was featured on Main Source's track "Live at the Barbeque". His debut album Illmatic, released in 1994, received universal acclaim from both critics and the hip hop community; it is frequently ranked as one of the greatest hip hop albums of all time.
Nas' follow-up album, It Was Written, debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, stayed on top for four consecutive weeks, went Platinum twice in only two months, and made Nas internationally known. From 2001 to 2005, Nas was involved in a highly publicized feud with rapper Jay Z. In 2006, Nas signed to Def Jam. In 2010, he released a collaboration album with reggae artist Damian Marley, donating all royalties to charities active in Africa. His eleventh studio album, Life Is Good, was released in 2012, and was nominated for Best Rap Album at the 55th Annual Grammy Awards.

Nas Is Like
"Nas Is Like" is the first single from Nas' third album I Am.... The song is the sixth collaboration between Nas and producer DJ Premier. It was critically well received as it was a change from the more commercial and pop-oriented singles from It Was Written and Nas, Foxy Brown, AZ, and Nature Present The Firm: The Album. The song contains a combination of braggadocios and introspective lyrics over a choppy string sample.

The song is also notable for featuring one of the most sought-after samples by cratediggers. For almost a decade since the track's release, the main sample used by DJ Premier remained unknown. However, in April 2008, an unnamed MP3 file featuring the original sample used was uploaded to the Internet by Dusty Kid from Strictly Breaks. Right after, the sample was identified as "Cantata of New Life" by John Rydgren. However, it was later revealed that the track was actually John Rydgren and Bob R. Way's 1966 song "What Child Is This?", from their record Thoughts on the Carols.

Our Presidents Day Outing To Lemoore, CA (Monday, February 18, 2013)
This video shows me & my family travel to Lemoore, CA to visit Auntie Elsa's bakery there on this lovely Presidents Day holiday of Monday, February 18, 2013. We left San Jose, CA around 9:15 a.m. and it was gloomy/misty. When we got to the San Luis Reservoir along CA 152, the sun came out fast. And since it was so beautiful and sunny here (despite the windy conditions), we stopped at the Romero Visitors Center to view the San Luis Reservoir. It was a breathtaking sight, despite the winds. We haven't been here in years so it was awesome! Afterwards, we continued towards I-5 and after a while, we stopped at Firebaugh, CA to eat our lunch at the Fosters Freeze. I got the fish fillet sandwich meal with a strawberry shake. Then it was nearing noon so we then continued our long trek down south...

Posledný krok pred je príbehom o jednom z mnohých ľudských pokusov vzlietnuť. Aktér tohto skúšania trávi dlhý čas premýšľaním o tom ako doletieť k neurčitému, preňho však podstatnému bodu. Pokusov je mnoho a k cieľu sa dá priblížiť niekoľkými spôsobmi. Napriek tomu sa zdá, že je stále na začiatku, akoby sa za celý čas nikam neposunul. Netuší, že najväčšou prekážkou v uskutočnení sna, je jeho schopnosť vytvárať si ilúzie o niečom, čo človeku jednoducho nie je vlastné. Na druhej strane má odvahu, vďaka ktorej neprestáva veriť, že za istých okolností dokáže aj nemožné. Práve táto nesmierna odvaha mu napokon dopomôže k prelomeniu hrubej steny jeho vlastných ilúzií a k jasnému poznaniu.

A story about one of many human attempts at flying. Our hero contemplates long about how to fly towards an indistinct but fundamental goal. There are many attempts and several ways of reaching this goal. But still, it seems as if he is always at the beginning, as if he has failed to get anywhere. He does not realise that the greatest barrier in achieving his dream is his ability to create his own illusions about something that people were not meant for. But he also possesses the courage to continue to believe that, under certain circumstances, he can achieve the impossible. It is just this tremendous cuourage which finally helps him to break through the wall of his own illusions and achieve enlightenment.

After seeing Jaro Vinarsky's The Last Step Before I will never see light in the same way again
We are in the dark long enough for our eyes to adjust and register how deep it goes. When light comes, it comes slowly, floating red in space. It begins to register as body parts and their disappearance, like a slow motion strobe light. The images change from one space to another so sharply, and with such sculptural variation that it seems physically impossible. As the light strengthens, the body parts merge into a single moving body that seems to float, suspended in the dark velvety space. It is only later, watching what looks like a glowing head bobbing on the surface of this black ocean, that I consciously recognize darkness as its own tangible entity.
Vinarsky is an incredible dancer. He unites breath, being, form and movement in a way that resonates as texture, vibration, memory, and feeling. I am moved deep within my being. But the brilliance of the collaboration between Vinarsky's choreography, Pavel Kotlik's lighting and Ondrej Bederka and Mirek Zitnik's costume cannot be ignored. It transforms the dance into an extraordinary visual and visceral experience.
The program notes tell us The Last Step Before is "a story where one of many human beings attempts to fly." It refers to the character as "our hero" (I hate heroes! I even hate the “idea” of heroes.) To me, they imply a glamorization of struggle that I find self-aggrandizing and infantile -- blatantly false. But this hero is tenderly loved by his creator. This hero is so honest, sincere and vulnerable that he cuts through even my entrenched aversion.

Pokusov je mnoho a k cieľu sa dá priblížiť niekoľkými spôsobmi. Napriek tomu sa zdá, že je stále na začiatku, akoby sa za celý čas nikam neposunul. Netuší, že najväčšou prekážkou v uskutočnení sna, je jeho schopnosť vytvárať si ilúzie o niečom, čo človeku jednoducho nie je vlastné. Na druhej strane má odvahu, vďaka ktorej neprestáva veriť, že za istých okolností dokáže aj nemožné. Práve táto nesmierna odvaha mu napokon dopomôže k prelomeniu hrubej steny jeho vlastných ilúzií a k jasnému poznaniu.

A story about one of many human attempts at flying. Our hero contemplates long about how to fly towards an indistinct but fundamental goal. There are many attempts and several ways of reaching this goal. But still, it seems as if he is always at the beginning, as if he has failed to get anywhere. He does not realise that the greatest barrier in achieving his dream is his ability to create his own illusions about something that people were not meant for. But he also possesses the courage to continue to believe that, under certain circumstances, he can achieve the impossible. It is just this tremendous cuourage which finally helps him to break through the wall of his own illusions and achieve enlightenment.

After seeing Jaro Vinarsky's The Last Step Before I will never see light in the same way again
We are in the dark long enough for our eyes to adjust and register how deep it goes. When light comes, it comes slowly, floating red in space. It begins to register as body parts and their disappearance, like a slow motion strobe light. The images change from one space to another so sharply, and with such sculptural variation that it seems physically impossible. As the light strengthens, the body parts merge into a single moving body that seems to float, suspended in the dark velvety space. It is only later, watching what looks like a glowing head bobbing on the surface of this black ocean, that I consciously recognize darkness as its own tangible entity.
Vinarsky is an incredible dancer. He unites breath, being, form and movement in a way that resonates as texture, vibration, memory, and feeling. I am moved deep within my being. But the brilliance of the collaboration between Vinarsky's choreography, Pavel Kotlik's lighting and Ondrej Bederka and Mirek Zitnik's costume cannot be ignored. It transforms the dance into an extraordinary visual and visceral experience.
The program notes tell us The Last Step Before is "a story where one of many human beings attempts to fly." It refers to the character as "our hero" (I hate heroes! I even hate the “idea” of heroes.) To me, they imply a glamorization of struggle that I find self-aggrandizing and infantile -- blatantly false. But this hero is tenderly loved by his creator. This hero is so honest, sincere and vulnerable that he cuts through even my entrenched aversion.

This video shows me & my family travel to Lemoore, CA to visit Auntie Elsa's bakery there on this lovely Presidents Day holiday of Monday, February 18, 2013.
We left San Jose, CA around 9:15 a.m. and it was gloomy/misty. When we got to the San Luis Reservoir along CA 152, the sun came out fast. And since it was so beautiful and sunny here (despite the windy conditions), we stopped at the Romero Visitors Center to view the San Luis Reservoir. It was a breathtaking sight, despite the winds. We haven't been here in years so it was awesome!
Afterwards, we continued towards I-5 and after a while, we stopped at Firebaugh, CA to eat our lunch at the Fosters Freeze. I got the fish fillet sandwich meal with a strawberry shake. Then it was nearing noon so we then continued our long trek down south towards Lemoore along I-5.
Then coming just after 12:25 p.m., we arrived to the Harris Ranch, just along CA 198 eastbound and continued the remaining 27 miles or so to Lemoore. Pretty much there was all farmland and open valley much of the way between Harris Ranch and Lemoore. We passed by the Lemoore NAS on the left side, shortly before exiting onto Lemoore Ave.
We finally made it safely to Auntie Elsa's bakery; Trinity Justo Bakery, located in Downtown Lemoore! It smelled good once I got into the bakery. The place was just as I remembered...felt like home. No food was out though since they were closed due to Presidents Day. Then I did a 360-degree view from inside the bakery.
Later, me, my sis & my cousins Ben and Racquelle went out to the Lemoore NEX (Navy Exchange) to do some shopping and whatnot. We mostly just looked at the doggie accessories or so haha! And then it was just after 3 p.m. and we headed back to the bakery. Yea, not much to do here in Lemoore. We ate our early dinner/late lunch once we got back to the bakery. We had spaghetti, sinigang and more!
Then by late afternoon, me, my sis and cousins went to the railroad tracks just nearby from the bakery to do some photo-shooting...while I did my own thing lol. Ben and Racquelle were the ones mostly being taken photos of.
As sunset came, I went out again (while the rest of us were back in the bakery just chilling and whatnot) by the empty outdoor area/shelter thingy to see the sunset. Only photos were shown in the video of the sunset.
It was now getting late and so we left Auntie Elsa's bakery around 6:45 p.m. or so. We, however, had to get gas at Velero at around 7:20 p.m. Then as we were around Gilroy, CA, we stopped at the McD's there to try the new Fish McBites. It was a great Presidents Day outing indeed! A few more photos throughout the duration of our trip was shown at the end of the video.

"Charlote SP" is a feature fiction of director Frank Mora ("Turning Point") shot in São Paulo with a new technique in the Brazilian movie market: it was fully recorded with smartphones (iPhones), keeping the technical quality for displaying on big screen. This resource opens for Brazilian filmmakers a number of new possibilities for efficient capturing using low cost, which can result in a more diverse and vibrant audio-visual production.
The movie tells the story of an international model, born in São Paulo, but living a long time abroad. Charlotte returns to the city to find her memories and origin. The character, played by actress Fernanda Coutinho (herself also a professional model), is a typical banished from the postmodern era, wandering the world's metropolises with a job that is purely made of snapshot imagine and the simulacrum.
In Brazil, she meets an old friend, with whom she gets involved along the plot, the novice filmmaker Marcelo Scorsésar (played by actor Guilherme Leal). She also meets her father, a cynical millionaire (Rui), magnificently played by Fernão Lacerda. Between the streets to where she is taken by her friend, full of characters that make São Paulo a lively and exciting city, and her father's decaying parties, real cults to power, Charlotte makes her journey through inequality and chaos. In this movie, São Paulo is not just a static scenario: most appropriate would be to say that the city covers each of the characters, rather than by them it is covered.
The movie has a powerful metalinguistic component from the experiences lived by the main actress and the director, so that the barriers between the content expressed of the plot and the metanarrative have questioned the very process of creation. "Charlotte SP" brings the city into the characters, and brings to the forefront the formation of the narrative, tacking a number of layers of meaning. Not for its other qualities in the direction, performances, assembly and musicality, "Charlotte SP" should be seen to bring the national cinema a necessary burden of boldness.
