Mambo! is the fifth studio album by Peruvian soprano Yma Sumac. It was released on 1954 by Capitol Records. It was entirely composed by Moisés Vivanco. Yma Sumac (September 13, 1922 - November 1, 2008) was a noted Peruvian singer. In the 1950s, she was one of the most famous proponents of exotica music. She became an international success based on her extreme vocal range, which was said to be "well over four octaves" and was sometimes claimed to span even five octaves at her peak. Stories published in the 1950s claimed that she was an Incan princess, directly descended from Atahualpa. Silvana Mangano canta accompagnata dall'orchestra del Maestro Balilla Dandini al sassofono
Charting at #4, this is a personal favorite from Perry Como. The younger generation might remember this tune in the second sequel to the 1989 movie "Back To The Future". Even though the song title has "Mambo" in it, the tune tempo is actually more of a cross between a Cha Cha and a Tango. (A Mambo is much quicker). The stunning formation ballroom dancers are performing a Tango during a rehearsal. (edited) The audio track has been completely reworked.
Perry Como with Mitchell Ayres's Orchestra recorded the song in New York City on August 31, 1954. The song was released by RCA Victor The US release peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard chart in that same year. The song was covered by crooner colleagues Nat King Cole and Bing Crosby

Pete Rugolo And His Orchestra - Jingle Bells Mambo (1954)
ich hass' nichts mehr, als mich zu verspäten
die sonne brennt und im auto ist's heiß
ein hupkonzert wie von tausend tromppeten
ich will zu dir, nun steh' ich hier, so'n scheiß
ich dreh schon seit stunden
hier so meine runden
es trommeln die motoren
es dröhnt in meinen ohren
ich finde keinen parkplatz
ich komm' zu spät zu dir, mein schatz
du sitzt bei kaffee und kuchen
und ich muß weiter suchen
an jeder ecke stehn politessen
lauern wie panther, zum sprung bereit
hier kannste nicht parken, das kannste vergessen
haben alles im griff, weit und breit
ich drehe schon seit........
und ich such' hier rum
auto fängt an zu kochen
puls an zu pochen
werde langsam panisch, klitschnaß geschwitzt
es ist nicht zu fassen
solch automassen
haben die kein zuhause, ich will zu dir
ich drehe schon seit........
