Beetham is a village and civil parish in Cumbria, England, situated on the border with Lancashire. It is part of the Arnside and Silverdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Craven in the Domesday Book shows that up till 1066 Earl Tostig was lord of Beetham and the surrounding areas of Farleton, Preston Richard, Hincaster, Heversham and Levens in Cumbria plus Yealand Redmayne and Borwick in Lancashire. Beetham manor then amounted to 25 carucates (ca3000 acres/1250ha) of ploughland. The Norman conquest of England added it to the extensive lands of Roger de Poitou.
The parish had a population of 1,724 recorded in the 2001 census, increasing to 1,784 at the 2011 Census.

The online magazine Fashion Art & Design Weekly (F.A.D Weekly) asked us to film a rare profile of Ian Simpson, the architect behind Manchester's first skyscraper, Beetham Tower. Simpson reveals the inspiration behind the iconic tower, where he also owns a stunning duplex penthouse in which he's planted a 4,000 square foot olive grove. Beetham Tower is a 47-storey residential skyscraper in Manchester city centre, England. Built in 2007, it is named after the developers, Beetham Organization, was designed by Ian Simpson, and built by Carillion. At a height of 168 metres (551 ft), it is the tallest skyscraper in the United Kingdom outside of London, the tallest building in Manchester, and overall the eighth-tallest building in the UK. The skyscraper is home to the Manchester Deansgate Hilton hotel, which occupies the first 23 storeys. This video is taken from the 18th and 23rd floors of the Hilton. The 18th floor view is from a guest room, the 23rd floor views are from the Executive Lounge and the Cloud 23 Cocktail Bar. The views feature the whole Manchester city centre, as well as Deansgate and Salford.
Very high winds on 8th December cause the Hilton Hotel (Beetham Tower) to howl extremely loud, louder than it sounds on the video
Manchester is a city of firsts. It was the epicenter of the Industrial Revolution, the place where mankind first split the atom, and the birthplace of the modern computer. The many chapters of Manchester’s story come together in Castlefield. Here you’ll find the remains of a Roman fort, Bridgewater Canal, and some of the mills which once generated incredible wealth for the city. In the background, Beetham Tower is a symbol of a city again on the rise. Manchester’s crowning glory is its Town Hall, built to rival the great buildings of London. During the Industrial Revolution, Manchester’s merchants went on a spending spree, scouring the world in search of cultural treasures to fill their stately homes. Many of these treasures now reside in the Manchester Art Gallery and the Manchester M...
I stayed at the Hilton Hotel at Manchester Deansgate for one night in August, 2015. The hotel is in Beetham Tower, which is close to Deansgate railway station and Metrolink Station (2 minute walk), and about a 7 minute walk from Manchester Oxford Road station. The tower is Manchester's only real skyscraper and is a landmark of the city. I booked a king executive room for £119.25. The king executive room comes with access to the 23rd floor executive lounge. The lounge gives impressive views over Manchester City Centre, and is one the same level as the Cloud 23 cocktail bar, through the day time a door between the two is opened allowing you to wander through their to check out the views from the other side, and sample a cocktail if you so wish (you are supposed to book this via reception f...
My tower was inspired by the Beetham Tower in Manchester. See the tower from the ground in the day and lit up at night. Climb to the top to see the views, watch the clouds float by and watch the sun go down. If you like please thumbs up and share, thanks!

Time Lapse Of Beetham Tower AKA the Hilton Deansgate Manchester
Manchester, the cultural and commercial capital of Northwest England. Famed for its Grand Victorian civic architecture, built on the wealth of the cotton and textile trade. It includes the magnificent Neo-gothic Town Hall. Recent years have seen striking modern additions such as the Imperial War Museum North and the Beetham Tower. A vibrant, cosmopolitan metropolis, Manchester is home to many bars and cafes, and a thriving cultural life. The Manchester Arndale Centre is a major retail hub, overlooked by the Wheel of Manchester. Manchester Art Gallery is visited by around 400,000 people each year. The modern arts centre, The Lowry, named after the prominent local artist, stages a wide array of cultural events. Standing in Sam's Chop House Bar is the artist's statue. Art has found its way in...
