WHAT happens when a rookie trash-talks one of the greatest trash talkers in the league? Bad, bad things.
All the weird and wacky news from around the league is in NFL Blitz!
ROOKIE ERROR
Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey is just a few weeks into his NFL career, but he held nothing back when he lined up against Ravens veteran Steve Smith Snr. All game the pair were chirping at each other but when the clock expired and Baltimore narrowly beat Jacksonville 19-17, it got personal.
“He’s still a good player. I’ll say that about him. But I don’t respect him as a man,” Ramsey said.
“Y’all tell me who got in whose head.
“He came up to me after the game, you feel me? Y’all tell me who got in whose head. He’s an old man acting like that.”

More Ramsey on Smith: "Once ur beating ur opponent who's in front of you physically and psychologically, they tend to get mad like that."— Mark Long (@APMarkLong) September 25, 2016
Big mistake.
Not only did Smith have 87 yards off eight passes, including a crucial catch to set up the game-winning drive, he’s also one of the sharpest tongues in NFL, with a knack for a mic-drop moment. And didn’t he deliver.
“I gave you every opportunity to speak face-to-face,” he responded to Ramsey.
“But you found your voice safely behind closed doors. Young man I don’t need your respect!
“In five to ten [years] you will be retiring and they will be taking my measurements for something you will never be. #HOFer. I got cleats with stronger thread then you!!!”
Game. Set. Match. Smith.

NO McNUGGS, THANKS
Texans fans were not one bit pleased with their team following a 27-0 drubbing at the hands of the New England Patriots this week. So it probably wasn’t the best time to announce a promotion of free McNuggets at Houston Mickey D’s.
Since the #Texans rushed for over 100 yards, enjoy a free 6pc McNuggets from @McD_Houston.— Houston Texans (@HoustonTexans) September 23, 2016
The fans responded pretty much as you’d expect. With intense ridicule aimed at the team.
@HoustonTexans How's about y'all play some McDefense?— 20 Pearls (@Dawgteam1911) September 23, 2016
@HoustonTexans @McD_Houston 6 piece? I would've preferred 6 points, AT LEAST!— Jesse (@956TXN) September 23, 2016

@HoustonTexans @McD_Houston No thanks. I have no appetite after last nights beat down.— KT (@dirtyfinnernail) September 23, 2016
@HoustonTexans does that come with a shot of whiskey so I can numb the pain of that awful loss?— Alex (@SuperiorGreaser) September 23, 2016
CAM NEWTON’S HAT PT. II
Last week Cam Newton flaunted ‘The Monorail Hat’, but this week he took his hat game to an all new level, or perhaps an all new low, depending on your fashion taste.
A combination of Harry Potter glasses, a decorated top hat and a colourful top left reporters scratching their heads at his outfit for the second consecutive week.
So I only just saw Cam Newton's latest press conference hat. He's just trolling now right? Sweet frames though pic.twitter.com/TZghb0AxA9— Melanie Dinjaski (@MelanieDinjaski) September 26, 2016

DOUG BELIEVES HE CAN FLY
Seahawks receiver Doug Baldwin doesn’t lack talent. The Seattle man in his sixth year has almost 300 career receptions to his name and over 4,000 yards, but this season he might add ‘catch of the year’ to his already impressive resume.
Against the San Francisco 49ers, Baldwin cut across the field and flew through the air to take a diving one-handed 12-yard catch just inside the sideline. Just beautiful.
CATCH OF THE DAY?! Ladies and gentlemen, @DougBaldwinJr. 😯 #WeAre12 #SFvsSEA https://t.co/UexzDBqebn— NFL (@NFL) September 25, 2016
BEASLEY AMUSED BY MEME
Dallas slot receiver Cole Beasley got absolutely smashed by Bears safety Adrian Amos in the Cowboys’ win over Chicago. Beasley took just a few steps before Amos flattened him, causing the receiver to temporarily leave the game. Beasley soon returned to the field though and with that, the internet was OK’d to take aim.
A user by the name of SelzerFX quickly made a humorous meme depicting Beasley getting knocked back in time.
.@Bease11 got boomed back in time on this hit LOL #Cowboys #CowboysBears pic.twitter.com/4Jvq7uFd08— SelzerFX (@SelzerFX) September 26, 2016
Did Beasley get mad? Did he go on a social media rant slamming the meme? Nope. Quite the opposite in fact.
“That was one of the most funniest videos I’ve ever seen,” Beasley told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
“I was actually in the drive-thru at Whataburger when I saw it. I showed my wife and we’re both dying laughing in the car. It was funny.”
THE MOST VERSATILE PLAYER IN THE NFL?
Cleveland’s Terrelle Pryor achieved an unbelievable feat against the Miami Dolphins this week.
Listed as a wide receiver, he also played at quarterback and safety in ONE game.
Pryor started his career in the league as a quarterback, drafted by the Oakland Raiders in 2011, and spent time in Seattle, Kansas City, and Cincinnati before he was reborn as a receiver with the Browns.
With Cleveland fighting a growing list of injuries — that includes Robert Griffin III and Josh McCown — in addition to his receiving duties against Miami, Pryor was called on to assist third-string quarterback Cody Kessler. He tallied 26 passing yards, 14 rushing yards and 62 receiving yards in the game. His safety appearance then came late to stop the deep touchdown threat. That’s a hard day at the office, and unfortunately for Pryor it wasn’t enough to get the W.
