Woolloongabba accident: Mum, son critical after driveway crash

A mother and son are fighting for life after a car reversed onto them in the family driveway in what police believe is a tragic accident.

Police said the woman's husband was driving the Subaru Forester at the Woolloongabba home about 6.30pm on Tuesday.

Paramedics rushed a 50-year-old woman to the Princess Alexandra Hospital and her 14-year-old son to the Lady Cilento Children's Hospital, both with critical injuries.

The Queensland Ambulance Service said the woman was trapped under the vehicle for some time and had to be revived at the scene.

Her son also suffered critical injuries, including broken legs, but wasn't trapped by the vehicle.

The forensic crash unit is investigating, but police say the crash is being treated as an accident.
