Real People

Real People is an NBC reality television series that aired from 1979 to 1984, on Wednesday and then Sunday nights. Its initial episodes aired live in the Eastern and Central Time Zones.

Synopsis

Real People featured a panel of seated hosts in front of a large studio audience. The hosts introduced pre-filmed segments and engaged in comedic banter about them. Each segment was a visit to someone with a unique occupation or hobby. Occasionally someone was brought into the studio to interact with the audience.

In its early seasons, Real People was NBC's most popular series, often scoring at the top of the ratings, and was a rare hit for the network at a time when NBC was a distant third in the ratings and struggling with numerous flops. Segments included "funny pictures" and funny newspaper errors sent in by viewers, who were awarded a Real People T-shirt. According to a 2008 interview with producer George Schlatter, who also co-created Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In for NBC, the series also covered serious topics, such as war heroes.

People

A people is a plurality of persons considered as a whole, as is the case with an ethnic group or nation. Collectively, for example, the contemporary Frisians and Danes are two related Germanic peoples, while various Middle Eastern ethnic groups are often linguistically categorized as the Semitic people. In politics

Various republics govern, or claim to govern, in the name of the people. Both the Roman Republic and the Roman Empire used the Latin term Senatus Populusque Romanus, (the Senate and People of Rome). This term was fixed to Roman legionary standards, and even after the Roman Emperors achieved a state of total personal autarchy, they continued to wield their power in the name of the Senate and People of Rome.

A People's Republic is typically a Marxist or socialist one-party state that claims to govern on behalf of the people. Populism is another umbrella term for various political tendencies that claim to represent the people, usually with an implication that they serve the common people instead of the elite.

Ice Cube

O'Shea Jackson, Sr. (born June 15, 1969), known by his stage name Ice Cube, is an American rapper, record producer, actor, and filmmaker. He began his career as a member of the hip-hop group C.I.A. and later joined the seminal gangster rap group N.W.A (Niggaz Wit Attitudes). After leaving N.W.A in December 1989, he built a successful solo career in music and films. Additionally, he has served as one of the producers of the Showtime television series Barbershop and the TBS series Are We There Yet?, both of which are based upon films in which he portrayed the main character.

Ice Cube is noted as a proficient lyricist and storyteller and is regarded as a brutally honest rapper; his lyrics are often political or socio-political, as well as violent and aggressive, and he is considered one of the founding artists in gangsta rap. He was ranked #8 on MTV's list of the 10 Greatest MCs of All Time, while fellow rapper Snoop Dogg ranked Ice Cube as the greatest MC of all time. AllMusic has called him one of hip-hop's best and most controversial artists, as well as "one of rap's greatest storytellers". In 2012, The Source ranked him #14 on their list of the Top 50 Lyricists of All Time. In 2014, About.com ranked him No. 11 on their list of the "50 Greatest MCs of All Time".

The Next: Fame Is at Your Doorstep

The Next: Fame Is at Your Doorstep is an American hour-long reality series on The CW television network that consists of a music competition to find new talent, the winner of the competition will receive a recording contract with Atlantic Records. The show is produced by CBS's Raquel Productions in association with 25/7 Productions, LLC and Flavor Unit Entertainment, Inc, and it's produced by Dave Broome ("The Biggest Loser"), Shakim Compere, and American singer and actress, Queen Latifah. The series premiered on August 16, 2012.

Unlike other talent shows, this one does not make auditions, the participants are mere local music artists with devoted fans, huge social media presence on Facebook and Twitter and even, some of them, worked before as opening acts for big names in the music. This competition intends, in every way to give them the big step to move out as headlining acts.

The original mentors panel consists of Gloria Estefan, Joe Jonas, John Rich, and Nelly, with Allison Hagendorf as the host of the show. They will spend 72 hours with musicians in six cities and help them prepare for the competition. The series will have six episodes, one for each city, followed by three live episodes.

Barbershop: The Next Cut

Barbershop: The Next Cut (formerly known as Barbershop 3) is an upcoming 2016 American comedy film directed by Malcolm D. Lee. It is a direct sequel to the 2004 film Barbershop 2: Back in Business and the fourth film overall in the Barbershop film series, following the 2002 original Barbershop film and the 2005 spin-off Beauty Shop. Barbershop: The Next Cut is scheduled to be released on April 15, 2016.

Plot

Calvin, Eddie and the rest of the gang must work together to save the shop and the neighborhood from gang members that roam the streets.

On March 26, 2014, Deadline.com reported that MGM was in negotiations with Ice Cube to produce a third Barbershop film. On February 19, 2015, Malcolm D. Lee was set to direct the third film, while Ice Cube and Cedric the Entertainer were in talks to join the film. On March 25, 2015, New Line Cinema signed on with MGM to release the film, while MGM would handle the production.Principal photography began in Atlanta, Georgia on May 11, 2015. On November 14, 2015, director Malcolm D. Lee said in an interview at the 7th Annual Governors Award ceremony that the title of the film has been changed from Barbershop 3 to Barbershop: The Next Cut.
