Read the plea for more trial observers
Currently we need Issue 4 to be added to the articles index and then work on the later issues.
Will look into a list of which back issues of E&L are still available.
Read the report on her trial by Steve Kaczynski
Thanks a lot for your sympathy.
Sandra is accused being a member of a terrorist organization. But all she did was going to Turkey for observing a suspect trial. The only evidence the state of Turkey has against her, is an article in the newspaper. There was a protest in the European Parliament in year 2000 against the former foreign minister Ismail Cem.
But it wasn´t her, who protested.
She was in the same time in the European Parliament, but talking with the Parliamentarian Luisa Morgantini. And also if she would have protested agianst Ismail Cem-this is no crime, but the democratic right of everyone.
The second point of charge is her support for a prisoner in Germany, his name is Ilhan Yelkuvan. He was making a hunger strike with the demand to abrogade isolation imprisonment. This hunger strike was taking place 63 days. And she was supporting the demand to overrule the isolation imprisonment.
We don´t know yet, when the trial against Sandra Bakutz will take place. But we would like to organize an observer delegation. Would you be interested to participate as an observer?
Email address to contact is isolation@post.com isolation@post.com
Austrian human rights activist Sandra Bakutz was arrested at Istanbul's Ataturk airport on February 9th whilst entering the country to observe a trial. As soon as the plane landed police entered the plane and removed her from the aircraft taking her straight into police custody.
Please read more about this case here and contact the authorities to demand her release
The RCN motion motion was the last motion at conference and passed by a very large majority, around 80per cent voted for it.
Website up and running. Everything online through FTP. Only issue appears to be the Logo graphic not loading for some reason. It is unimportant anyway.
Website priorities
Site style is merely a template and more work will be carried out on it. It has been designed using XHTML 1.0 Strict and CSS 1.0. This should allow maximum accessibility. It is recommended that you browse using Opera or Mozilla for greatest compatibility. The site should also be functioning in Lynx. If you find errors please report to the email address in contact page. Due to Microsofts inability to follow Internet standards laid down by W3C Microsoft Internet Explorer may display pages incorrectly.
These are in PDFs format to allow access to users of all formats. They were exported using a trial version of ExpertPDF and we are going through them one by one to remove the watermark and ensure all pictures are correct. Some will however not be correct when compared to the original version due to font changes and some picture errors.
Additionally the pictures were originally embedded inside the Pagemaker files. This means some graphics are missing/lost and others are due to their format making some files large.
Some articles in earlier issues were formatted to fit onto half pages resulting in some pages being repeated twice. This was easier than reformatting the Pagemaker file and this type of editing should be minimised in the future.
