Victoria Harbour is a natural landform harbour situated between Hong Kong Island and Kowloon in Hong Kong. The harbour's deep, sheltered waters and strategic location on the South China Sea were instrumental in Hong Kong's establishment as a British colony and its subsequent development as a trading centre.
Throughout its history, the harbour has seen numerous reclamation projects undertaken on both shores, many of which have caused controversy in recent years. Environmental concerns have been expressed about the effects of these expansions, in terms of water quality and loss of natural habitat. It has also been proposed that benefits of land reclamation may be less than the effects of decreased harbour width, affecting the number of vessels passing through the harbour. Nonetheless Victoria Harbour still retains its founding role as a port for thousands of international vessels each year.

For further information please visit https://www.victoriaharbour.com.au A superb extension to Melbourne's CBD, its uninterrupted harbour and river views, vast open spaces and tree-lined boulevards create an oasis on the edge of the city. Vibrant promenades with inviting restaurants and cafés, and walking and cycling paths entwine with some of Melbourne's most indulgent residential offerings. This waterside sanctuary affords a dichotomy of freedoms: the chance to be part of the city when you want to; or retreat and escape from it as your mood changes. Welcome to Victoria Harbour.
The Star Ferry, or The "Star" Ferry Company, is a passenger ferry service operator and tourist attraction in Hong Kong.[1] Its principal routes carry passengers across Victoria Harbour, between Hong Kong Island and Kowloon. It was founded in 1888 as the Kowloon Ferry Company, adopting its present name in 1898. The fleet of twelve ferries currently operates two routes (four prior to April 1, 2011)[2] across the harbour, carrying over 70,000 passengers a day, or 26 million a year. Even though the harbour is crossed by railway and road tunnels, the Star Ferry continues to provide an inexpensive mode of harbour crossing. The company's main route runs between Central and Tsim Sha Tsui. It has been rated first in the “Top 10 Most Exciting Ferry Rides” poll by the Society of American Travel Wri...

The view over Victoria Harbour from Victoria Peak is to Hong Kong as climbing the Great Wall is to China; it offers the iconic outlook over Hong Kong's "high rise" to success and prosperity. Victoria Peak is the best spot to have a bird's eye view of Hong Kong. Viewed from the peak, both day and night scenes are worth taking in. See high-rise buildings round the busy Victoria Harbour stretching out towards Mainland China. At night the scenery is gorgeous, when the Symphony of Lights of various buildings dances in unison. When I reflect back on our travels around Asia few memories are fonder than our time spent in both Hong Kong and Macau. From the fascinating attractions in both cities to the amazing local eats we really packed in a lot over a short period of time. Some of the top highlights included eating dim sum, taking boat rides, viewing the symphony of lights, eating Macanese street food, frequenting casinos and marveling at the views of both cities from high vantage points. My first video, a compilation of footage from my trip to Victoria, BC at the beginning of summer break, 2015 before I leave on exchange to Sweden. I went whale watching twice with Prince of Whales (located in Victoria's Downtown Harbour) and saw killer whales/orca whales both trips (as well as other wildlife like seals and sea lions), went out on my grandparents boat from Royal Victoria Yacht Club, drove up past Duncan to the Cowichan Valley to visit my great aunt, and had a great time exploring my favourite city in the world.
