Jordan Lewis requests trade to Melbourne

Date

Jordan Lewis has officially requested a trade to Melbourne.

The only thing holding up the trade right now is a haggling over draft picks, according to Sam McClure.

The Demons are keen to offload pick 66 for Lewis, which the Hawks are yet to accept.

The offer is quite low considering Lewis' proven record as a four-time premiership player coming off a season where he finished runner-up in the Hawks best and fairest count.

However Melbourne will argue that Sam Mitchell, who won the count was effective traded to West Coast for pick 88.

"They've played their cards wrong here. Clearly they didn't want Mitchell and Lewis to go," Scoop said.

Lewis has been offered a three-year deal with Melbourne, whereas the Hawks only had a contract for next season on the table which was previously agreed on.
