Port Adelaide youngsters try their hand at Mannequin Challenge

AFL clubs have become renowned for jumping on viral crazes sweeping the internet — and Port Adelaide was no exception on Tuesday.

After many had participated in ice bucket dumping, planking and the ‘Harlem Shake’, the Power became the first AFL club to perform the ‘Mannequin Challenge’ — a moving video that features a group of people posing as mannequins in dramatic postures.

The video begins with the club’s head of fitness Darren Burgess pointing to a message on his whiteboard that reads: “Lift Big = Get Big!”

Many of the club’s first to fourth-year players, who commenced pre-season training on Monday, are then shown in the gym in the midst of leg presses, bicep curls and various other exercises.

The footage then moves to the club’s indoor field where Darcy Byrne-Jones is about to eat chips while watching an arm-wrestle before gun on-baller Ollie Wines is shown pouring a bottle of chocolate milk.

For keeping a straight face and generating a constant flow of milk, Wines gets our best on ground.
