Very useful app I love this app. I have used it regularly for one month and now I feel that I have learned and memorized many new vocabularies in that short amount of time. The repetitive exercise is the key thought. Only need not more than 5 minutes a day to exercise, and voila! Your vocabulary has broadened before you realize that. Very useful app indeed.

I have been using this app for 3 days now and I love it. it is a lot like duolingo, except this apps exercises are "faster" to complete. You also learn alternative words which are not covered in other apps. A major plus is that it also gives you pictures/mnemonics - which is KEY to learning and remembering everything. One drawback is that I am not sure how to navigate through the differen't learning tools. In duolingo that is simpler..

THIS APP IS AWESOME! Downloaded it to improve my conversational Spanish, and it's been immensely helpful! Then I discovered it has a zillion different sections. I've been "playing" in the perfect squares section for over an hour now. This brings me back to being a kid, when learning was FUN! College sometimes drains the fun out of learning, which is a real shame. I don't feel bad about 'wasting time' on this app because I'm actually using my brain! Five stars.

It's good, but not intuitive enough. Let's say I have to translate a word. I'd have to repeat the answer in the same way, as the app only accepts one correct answer. I think it can afford to be more flexible in accepting the variations of the correct answers. Also, for the Japanese language, the app disregards katakana by using hiragana for words that should only be in katakana. Looking forward to the day they fix these issues.

🖒 This is the best language learning app ever!!! I love how you can set your daily goals. The layout is also amazing! The only downside, for me, is that the Speed Review was sooo fast! (I'm learning Korean, now) I don't think that I could read long sentences in a span of a few seconds. And there's four choices! So in the end, I had to give up the speed review and rely on the classic reviews... But still this is an amazing app. Highly recommended!

PRACTICE Seriously practice makes perfect. It adapts to what you are having trouble with. Go back review often. The more you use it the more it will stick. I'm using the Japanese 1 lesson and it's amazing. Best way I've found to actually learn japanese from the ground up.

DuoLinguo is better! The user interface is annoying, inconsistent, folksy, & unresponsive, and the learning is not very well organised. Grammar is presented confusingly, without sufficient context. Apparently I deserve 500 points (and some rocket fuel) for learning just a few words. Media resources are pointlessly bandwidth-intensive despite poor sound recording & occasionally poor pronunciation quality. Distracting noises, vibrations, and animations impair the learning experience. The app unsubtly nags you to subscribe.
Great app - valuable feedback Great app, using it for more than a year and am a memrise pro member. What I realised lately - the app is crashing if there are background app updates at the same time. Please look into that, it can be nerve-racking. Keep up the good work!
i guess its fun im doing the korean language courses.. and this app shohld probably be used AFTER learning hangul elsewhere. and some of the phrases and sentences arent explained for their formality levels very well and how to adapt to situations. forgivable, but anyone doing korean with this app should also study using other sources at the same time to get a real grasp of just what theyre saying :)
No longer difficulty in learning language I found this App. useful and appropriate in learning languages. No distraction, nice display as if you are in an online game, not boring and hard. The concept is sweet, when you finish bunch of words it's like you have plenty of flowers in a garden and it's nice feeling coz each box shows that you've got a new term in that language you've chosen to learn. For time being I'm learning Italian and feel awesome!
It is easy It makes sure you understand every word and it helps. If you got this because you want to learn Japanese and are lost. GET THIS APP! It is so much help. One thing though. It needs better voices. Those ones sound like robots...
Dynamic app Keeps the user engaged and has no ads, which is great! The japanese module is well thought and helpful, provides gradual loading of new words or writing sytems used. Keep up the good work!
Good app and it's fun. It teaches to comprehand, speak, read and write all at the same time and it does it well. One thing it lacks up until now is context. I would like to see the words and phrases we learn in context of a conversation. That would be my 5th star. And I honestly dislike the speed review. Because of my dyslexia, I need more time to read my options. It's frustrating because if the answer is bottem right, I will often miss it by default.
A very good app to learn basic Mandarin. It comes with exercises to help you memorise the words. I do have a feedback to share. Probably you can come up with English translations for all the words and characters, especially for exercises.
Fun and very interactive! This app makes learning a language so much more fun! It's highly interactive with the student and gives instant feedback on what you did wrong along with pop quiz reviews and audio files to get a better grasp in pronunciation. I hope they add more levels once your done with every thing if you were a beginner because it's just too much fun to let it go! :)
Bit of a narrow focus The learning is, at least at the beginner level, focused on learning the alphabet, and while that certainly is very important, I miss a bit more rounded out learning with functional / communicative phrases and expressions mixed in that I could use more immediately in interactions with arabic-speaking friends. As far as reading and writing goes I also wish there were some exercise options that guided me to practice the writing and had me input my results manually.
Really fun and helpful It's addicting. I downloaded it and couldn't stop playing because it really makes it like a game and I didn't realize I was learning until I started saying and even thinking things in Spanish! Awesome!
Great app with few problems This is a nice primer to learning a new language. Has a nice interface but can be a pain to use if learning with many courses. It's main problem is that most of its content is user generated, so certain courses have audible hisses, audio hiccups, and sometimes inaccurate pronunciation. Nevertheless this and its competitors are handy for the newcomers. This just have to maintain the quality of the courses they're offering.
Good but Disheartening rate of progress. Sometimes quite repetitive, which can be boring. Speed review is far too fast to accommodate ability to read answers in time for match making. Otherwise, pretty good free app.
Muy bueno Just started using this app and so far it's been very good, I'm actually learning something. Just the 4 for now because of I haven't used it for long enough to give a full review.
Love it Very helpful. I know conversational Spanish but I have trouble with using the correct tenses when you get to anything besides me and I. Beginner still works great to start off even though I know greetings, questions, and simple sentences. It's a nice refresher progressing as you pass to higher levels.
Fun educational app I'm learning Chinese through Memrise and the memorization method is working really well for me. The only problem is that not all the words are written in both pinyin and Chinese characters.
Too many speed reviews I'm working in a 5000 phrase list of advanced French, and I spend 2 hours a day trying to learn 25 a day. I thought I would have a variety of learning experiences, but 90% of my time is spent on speed reviews. For advanced French, there is not enough time to read the phrases and answers ... not picking means wrong. It's very easy to get mixed up among so many phrases all meaning almost the same thing. I also feel like I've been tested daily, hundreds of times, on some things and never get them wrong.
Excellent I am only a year 7 hifh school student but I have started to use this app after may french teacher recommended it to me. I usually spend 2 hours a night on this and doing that has resulted in her putting me on GCSE grades already! This is the best language app so far
It works Using this to help my son, who is struggling to learn Spanish with the grammar approach at school. Easy, quick, little bit every day, and it works so well I've started learning Russian for myself!
Needs dark mode And also for some stuff it expects you to add the "..." to the answer, this isn't really necessary. Also it would be cool to be able to vote up and down and comment on courses.
Some annoying bugs on android I love the app, and I was learning Danish quite well using my Ipad. But when I started using an android phone, there were a lot of words that came up that didn't have any audio and the app would hang when I came across those words. I hope this bug gets resolved soon.
Pretty nice and well thought app with only small minuses: -"Speed review" is impossible if you have problems with your reading or eyes and it cannot be turned off. -The app reminds constantly that I should upgrade to pro (which I did actually plan to do until...) -If something doesn't work, there is no support at all but you just get an automated response asking you to consult other users on forums. This seems to be the standard practice nowadays with most apps and companies, and I definitely won't use even one cent to support this. The last item was finally the reason I deleted my account and uninstalled the app, otherwise it was pretty much what I wanted.
Great app for learning vocab The fact that you can make your own courses by uploading word lists from a spreadsheet is the best thing about it. All the super gamification of memorisation is the cherry on top.
Very useful! This is a really good method of learning and reviewing vocabulary. But the app has a few annoying bugs and an overly complex UI for what it is.
It's great It has a very nice interface and a good art style, but it limits the user by blocking off content with a pay wall; that is to say, the app requires you to purchase a subscription, a fairly high priced one at that, to be able to learn more difficult words and such.
Amazing get this app😊😉😄 It's really easy to use I've connected my school account and using the app for 5 mins can rack up 2000 points and it's really helped me speak to my Spanish teacher as I'm in year ten now he wants upls to speak more Spanish and memrise has really helped
It's a pretty good little app.. I started off having a big issue with it, but when that was straightened out - not a bad little app. Not bad at all. 👍

I'm really sorry to hear this! Could you send me a screenshot to ben@memrise.com and I'll get this sorted out at once. Thanks!
Ben Best app for improving memory! I've noticed instant results even after having a long break from using this app. One of the best & most useful apps I've downloaded
Awesome Everyone in my school is so shocked that I am 11th in the world for A1 French course and that I have over 8 million points. Their reaction is so funny when I show them the proof
Great app First decent app I've found to help me Japanese. Haven't had any problems so far and the selection of languages is quite impressive.
Wonderful! So far extremely helpful and easy. I usually dont rate apps at all, but I loved this one enough to do so!
This us a great app... I love this ...its a perfect app for learning languages!!! iam learning Russian...i face no difficulty using this app...Never thought learing language could b this easy... Its like a game ...
Helpful! I am learning Japanese and this app is so very helpful! Daily challenges and words as well as goals help you keep on track and focus.
Really good app I've had so much fun learning languages that it's become my favourite app, it's so good that I've become addicted. It has reviews of what you have done that constantly helps you to remember and consolidate what you have learned. overall great app with many languages to choose from. Highly recommend this app.

What's New
Darkness falls across the app
Submission time is close at hand
Bugs crawl in search of code
To terrorize all learning modes
The foulest glitch is there on screen
The funk of four previous releases
But engineers in every room
Are closing in to seal their doom
And though they fight to stay alive
Their bodies start to shiver
For no mere code muncher can resist
The evil of our bug killers
If you see any evil bugs lurking in the dark, don’t try to scream. Report them to android@memrise.com
