Immersive language learning When I found out I would be moving to Tokyo, I bought this app right away. I have used this app and Kanji Study for two months. I'm now able to read English words written in katakana, understand some of the common signs, and have basic interaction with shop and restaurant staff. The listening games are especially helpful. I wish more people used the app so that I could have conversations and play multiplayer games.

Love the app, but... I just went from an HTC 1 M9 to the Google pixel phone. Since the switch nothing seems to really work right. I'm studying Japanese, but instead of the correct writing I see boxes with a "x" in them. Please help as I'd love to continue my lessons. I changed it to one star so that hopefully I could get some help.

Good learning system. BAD APP Only downloads 1/4 of the initial lesson. Then freezes and says no Internet connection. I have reset several times and even uninstalled and reinstalled with no change. All my other apps that require Internet have no issues ie facebook... therefore it's an app issue and not network. Don't waste the money or time.

Excellent way of learning. Tried the free version and have not quite finished it yet. However, I like it a lot. There's enough time to write down words which enhances my personal learning style. I might just buy the real version. Expensive but worth it to me.

Bugs since last update Great program, decent app. With most recent update, app times out halfway through many of the lessons, and I have to finish the lesson on my computer. Fix this, and it would get 4 stars. Not all functionality and lessons are available on the mobile app. Fix that, and it would be 5 stars.

Great app App is very useful for practicing on the go. The core functionality of RS is all there. I wish it could work when not connected to the internet though, so that I could use it when traveling. Update: App doesn't run on any of my devices anymore, tablet on Android 5.x and new Nexus 6p phone. Update: fixed and you can download content for later, win win.
Brilliant. Easy to use. Am loving being able to dip in any time I want. I have had lessons before but not so easy to fit in and didn't go at the right pace for me. I find this style of learning suits me better until I am more proficient perhaps
Do not spend money on them!! A premium rip off! Once purchased on Android it's Android only.. No way to continue on another platform!! Doesn't make any sense.. it's the language I'm buying not the software at a specific platform... Mobile is mobile !!
Worth the money! The one problem people have when learning a language is having to translate the foreign language they are into their native language first before speaking. Rosetta Stone helps with this because they provide pictures and examples instead of mere translations.
Doesn't work since update Says "loading course content" and sticks there. Help desk was very unhelpful, and had such a heavy accent I could barely understand his poor script reading. Works fine on PC. Need this fixed.
Comprehension This program is good for building vocabulary and and improving your listening and understanding. It is a foundation, but struggles with having the student produce independent thoughts to express. Conversation should be developed in parallel with later lessons separately.
Not what I expected I need the words to see what I'm saying not just pictures to make my best guess. I also would like an explanation of word format. I think a lot of the free stuff is just as good without wasting your money.
Too expensive May I get it for free? It's very expensive for me. I love this app very much. Unfortunately, this is only for rich man. Not poor guy like me...
What am i saying? i see pictures but im not really sure what im saying, there should be a translation under the picture telling me exactly what im saying. also it kicked me off for some reason and i cant log back on. -_-
It's not really free Before the first lesson was over, it wanted about $200 for more lessons. The advertising led me to think, this was a free app. If the price would have been clear, I wouldn't have wasted time.
I say it's okay because, there isn't an English word that matches the Spanish word alongside the word you're trying to learn. Please update the app and include whatever language the person normally speaks would be awesome.
Pay by lesson. . I like the program I just wish it had an option to pay by the lesson instead of trying to come up with $200 before you can move on. Otherwise from lesson one it seemed like a really good program.
Good when it works I like this app when it runs but its really slow to load up sometimes or to move from one lesson to the next which ia frustrating.
Interactive and fun Having tried leaning languages from books and from courses, this is much better. I can learn at my pace, and I find it more fun and interactive. It's a shame some of the lessons are not available on tablet.
Not worth it.. I bought the program and it came with three months of free online/app use but duolingo is just as good if not better since I didn't waste a cent on duolingo. Highly disappointed..
Much better than on pc My mic is bad. Luckily, the phone is convenient and has a much better mic, and the app layout lets me access everything comfortably for all my lessons
It's great to learn from I've tried different things to learn German on my own. This app is perfect for I can learn at my own pace. It tops them all. Little expensive but worth it in my opinion.
After upgrading to Nougat it doesn't work... Still not updated! No longer displays Chinese characters during lessons. I will change my rating when it gets fixed but I paid plenty enough to expect it to keep working after updates to Android. No response from company. Think I'll get Fluenz. Been giving 1 star for 2 months.
Worth the money. It's challenging at times. But I've learned a lot. Sentence structure is difficult as well as spelling, the app does force you to do things correctly.
Better than Duolingo for kids My 5 year old boy likes it. He cannot read so the picture format is good for him. We are learning German together.
Word association works better than lecturing. Rosetta Stone teaches with word association and phonetics. It doesn't just tell you what to say and how to say it. It presents you with situations and pictures and asks you to describe the situation in the language in question.
Very effective Minus the whole "pay $200 for the entire lesson" thing, this app is amazing. And what's two hundred dollars for being able to communicate with a whole other part of the world?
It's pretty good Great content as you would expect. The app is pretty good but there are some bugs. Getting in and navigating is a bit of a pain. But once you're in a lesson it's great.
Poor customer service I provide email proof of app purchase. Rosetta Stone support claims they cannot find records on their end? After using this app for a few months it randomly kicks me out and I no longer have connection. If you at thinking about purchasing, don't bother. Waste of money.
Was able to use while in Spain! Rosetta platform keeps you motivated! Just a little disappointed you can't do writing exercises with this app.
The mic doesn't recognize me Would also be nice if it gave you the actual translation of words. Can't spend over $100 if it doesn't do these basic things
Nice ish Great app especially teaching the way a child learns but (and it may be my phone) it doesnt pickup the vocal respomce accurately if there are ANY background noise at all
Irish, yes please I love this. Im already starting to slur words to sound like the voice saying it
Fantastic to just pick up and use when your out and about! You can download lessons so internet is not required on your travels. All in all with the wonderful tools the program gives it is an excellent learning aid
Pretty accurate but local. I like it a lot but so far for practicality in immediate emmersion into local society like saying thank you kindly, excuse me, ordering a beer, place to sleep and ordering food? Still waiting.
Technical Issues I could not get past nán rèn without several, "not responding" issues. I only had the app for 10 minutes. Uninstalling and disappointed.
Customer service is nonexistent Kana script does not display on Google pixel. Spoken to 4 customer support people, barley any attempt to fix the issue was made by them.
This app is my life I love this app and I wish it were free I am learning korean and its so much fun every time I get something right I just go crazy and cheer for my self but I wish it would give you the meaning next to the words
Not working anymore Since last 2 months it's keeps saying loading your course but stuck at around 90%... Rest really awesome app deserves 5 star... Kindly resolve above issue...
