This is a collection of steam locomotive trains of japan, mainly SL Yamaguchi, an engine model C571 steam locomotive train which runs through the unspoiled countryside between JR Shin-Yamaguchi Sta.(Yamaguchi) and Tsuwano Sta. The C571 is known as the nickname of “The Lady”, and its beautiful black solid iron body impress SL fans. Even if you are not a SL fan, your heart will beat fast when you see it coming as it giving off the steam smoke with the strong whistle.
SL yamaguchi is a retro flavored five coach train, and each of them are designed differently. It is recommended to reserve the observation coach when you head to Shimane from Yamaguchi. Another attractive part of this SL train trip is that you can see the SL train turn its direction on the turntable at the Tsuwano Station.
History of SL Yamaguchi
The Steam Locomotive Trains in Japan were put out of service from the end of 1960s, and Steam Locomotives on the Yamaguchi Line also disappeared in 1973. However, a lot of SL fans were eager to restore SLs, it was decided that the traction engine Model C571 would run on Yamaguchi Line again.

The engineer walks through the process, from throwing the electrical knife switch to cranking over the engine and rolling the engine out of the engine house.

This beautiful locomotive was built by John Heald of Rotorua, New Zealand. In this video we take the B-Class out for a typical day at the track, including a sequence of loading the engine onto a custom made trailer towed behind a Honda Jazz (Fit) with CVT. Then it's off to the beautiful River Edge Park Railway in Whakatane, New Zealand. We also take a look at stability of this remarkable locomotive under high speeds using on board cameras. Special adjustable Danly coil springs prevent the locomotive from porpoising; the leaf springs are dummy and just for show. Locomotive
A locomotive or engine is a rail transport vehicle that provides the motive power for a train. The word originates from the Latin loco – "from a place", ablative of locus, "place" + Medieval Latin motivus, "causing motion", and is a shortened form of the term locomotive engine, first used in the early 19th century to distinguish between mobile and stationary steam engines.
A locomotive has no payload capacity of its own, and its sole purpose is to move the train along the tracks. In contrast, some trains have self-propelled payload-carrying vehicles. These are not normally considered locomotives, and may be referred to as multiple units, motor coaches or railcars. The use of these self-propelled vehicles is increasingly common for passenger trains, but rare for freight (see CargoSprinter). Vehicles which provide motive power to haul an unpowered train, but are not generally considered locomotives because they have payload space or are rarely detached from their trains, are known as power cars.

This is a collection of steam locomotive trains of japan, mainly SL Yamaguchi, an engine model C571 steam locomotive train which runs through the unspoiled countryside between JR Shin-Yamaguchi Sta.(Yamaguchi) and Tsuwano Sta. The C571 is known as the nickname of “The Lady”, and its beautiful black solid iron body impress SL fans. Even if you are not a SL fan, your heart will beat fast when you see it coming as it giving off the steam smoke with the strong whistle. SL yamaguchi is a retro flavored five coach train, and each of them are designed differently. It is recommended to reserve the observation coach when you head to Shimane from Yamaguchi. 1/3 scale Darjeeling Himalayan Railway B-Class Steam Locomotive in 7.25" gauge
This beautiful locomotive was built by John Heald of Rotorua, New Zealand. In this video we take the B-Class out for a typical day at the track, including a sequence of loading the engine onto a custom made trailer towed behind a Honda Jazz (Fit) with CVT. Then it's off to the beautiful River Edge Park Railway in Whakatane, New Zealand. We also take a look at stability of this remarkable locomotive under high speeds using on board cameras. Special adjustable Danly coil springs prevent the locomotive from porpoising; the leaf springs are dummy and just for show. In this video we take the B-Class out for a typical day at the track, including a sequence of loading the engine onto a custom made trailer towed behind a Honda Jazz (Fit) with CVT. Then it's off to the beautiful River Edge Park Railway in Whakatane, New Zealand. We also take a look at stability of this remarkable locomotive under high speeds using on board cameras. Special adjustable Danly coil springs prevent the locomotive from porpoising; the leaf springs are dummy and just for show.
