Little Shop of Horrors is a 1986 American rock musical horror comedy film directed by Frank Oz. It is a film adaptation of the off-Broadway musical comedy of the same name by composer Alan Menken and writer Howard Ashman about a nerdy florist shop worker who raises a vicious, raunchy plant that feeds on human blood. Menken and Ashman's Off-Broadway musical was based on the low-budget 1960 film The Little Shop of Horrors, directed by Roger Corman. The 1986 film stars Rick Moranis, Ellen Greene, Vincent Gardenia, Steve Martin, and Levi Stubbs as the voice of Audrey II. The film also featured special appearances by James Belushi, John Candy, Christopher Guest, and Bill Murray. It was produced by David Geffen through The Geffen Company and released by Warner Bros. on December 19, 1986.
Little Shop of Horrors was filmed on the Albert R. Broccoli 007 Stage at the Pinewood Studios in England, where a "downtown" set, complete with overhead train track, was constructed. The film was produced on a budget of $25 million, in contrast to the original 1960 film, which, according to Corman, only cost $30,000. The film's original 23-minute finale, based on the musical's ending, was rewritten and reshot after receiving a strong negative reception from test audiences. For years only available as black-and-white workprint footage, the original ending was fully restored in 2012 by Warner Home Video.
A skid-row florist's "mean green mother" of a monster plant is the center of "the looniest, nuttiest, most outrageous movie musical comedy in years" (Jeffrey Lyons, Sneak Preview). Rick Moranis, Steve Martin, Ellen Green, Billy Murray and other comedy greats star. MPAA Rating: PG-13

This is the ending of the cult 1980's classic, Little Shop Of Horrors, that appeared theatricality nationwide when It was first released into cinemas back in 1986. It features a happier climax then it's grim counterpart and is mostly hated among fans of the film. Enjoy! :D Ripped from the 2000 Warner Bros DVD, NOT the 2012 Blu-ray.
Also from the rare special edition DVD, this trailer is strangely cropped to a scope 2.35:1 format, despite the movie being shot open-matte and composed for 1.85:1 flat ratio. It's been a while since I've seen the movie, but I think all the footage in this trailer is actually in the film.

This is a clip from the movie. Steve Martin is hillarious. I create these for my iPod for when I need a good laugh.

Little Shop of Horrors - Lantern Theatre - 2013
The Little Shop of Horrors is a 1960 American black comedy horror film directed by Roger Corman. Written by Charles B. Griffith, the film is a farce about an inadequate florist's assistant who cultivates a plant that feeds on human flesh and blood. The film's concept is thought to be based on a 1932 story called "Green Thoughts", by John Collier, about a man-eating plant. However, Dennis McDougal in Jack Nicholson's biography suggests that Charles B. Griffith may have been influenced by Arthur C. Clarke's sci-fi short story 'The Reluctant Orchid'. The film stars Jonathan Haze, Jackie Joseph, Mel Welles and Dick Miller, all of whom had worked for Corman on previous films. Produced under the title The Passionate People Eater, the film employs an original style of humor, combining black co...

Here is the June 5, 2003 performance of the pre-Broadway tryout of "Little Shop of Horrors" at the Miracle Theatre in Coral Gables, FL. This production is exceptionally notable, as it features Lee Wilkof, the original Seymour, in the role of Mr. Mushnik, and it was directed by Lee's wife Connie Grappo, who was Howard Ashman's assistant during the show's original run, and Robert Stack as the pre-recorded voice of the narrator. Stack died two days before the production opened. Unfortunately, when the show went to Broadway later in the year, it featured a different director and entirely now plants, sets, and (with the exception of Hunter Foster) cast. This is the only video of this production that I am aware of. ************************************** CAST LIST *****************************...
Where did the girls go?
Where are they now?
I'm gonna find them
Someday, somehow
I wanna know
I wanna know
Was it really that long ago?
Has it really disappeared, is it gone?
How come I feel it rolling on and on?
I wanna know
Won't somebody say
How could it be a part of yesterday?
How could the magic disappear and be gone?
Like Crystal, Ronette and Chiffon
I hear the music and it sounds so great
Could it be that I was born too late?
Cause I can feel it, feel it all around
It's like I'm living in a wall of sound
I wanna know
I wanna know
Am I just living in the afterglow?
I hear their songs and see them standing there
I guess it's crazy, hey but I don't care
I wanna know
I wanna know
Must be a reason why I love them so
It's like a rainbow that I'm riding on
With Crystal, Ronette and Chiffon
Where did the girls go?
Where did they run?
I wanna tell them
They're still, they're still number one
I wanna know
How can I travel back to long ago?
Back to the place I know it all goes wrong
To Crystal, Ronette and Chiffon, sweet Chiffon
