BOLT THE DUER WINS ADIOS IN WORLD-RECORD 1:47.4
WASHINGTON, PA, July 28, 2012—In three recent important races, Bolt The Duer left from the rail and had the lead late, only to be nailed at the wire. In Saturday's $500,000 final of the Delvin Miller Adios at The Meadows Racetrack & Casino, Bolt The Duer and driver Mark McDonald left from the rail once more, but this time, with a different strategy.
They powered to the two hole, sat behind an amazing, unprecedented three-quarters in 1:19.2 thrown down by A Rocknroll Dance, brushed through the lane and won the 46th "Pace for the Orchids" in 1:47.4, fastest mile ever on a five-eighths-mile track regardless of age.

Harness racing
Harness racing is a form of horse racing in which the horses race at a specific gait (a trot or a pace). They usually pull a two-wheeled cart called a sulky, although in Europe racing under saddle (trot monté in French) is also conducted.
Breeds
In North America harness races are restricted to Standardbred horses, although European racehorses may also be French trotters or Russian trotters, or have mixed ancestry with lineages from multiple breeds. Orlov trotters race separately in Russia. The light cold-blooded Coldblood trotters and Finnhorses race separately in Finland, Norway and Sweden.
Standardbreds are so named because in the early years of the Standardbred stud book, only horses who could trot or pace a mile in a standard time (or whose progeny could do so) of no more than 2 minutes, 30 seconds were admitted to the book. Today, most harness races are won by Standardbreds who post times of 2 minutes or less. The horses have proportionally shorter legs than Thoroughbreds, and longer bodies. Standardbreds generally have a more placid disposition, due to the admixture of non-Thoroughbred blood in the breed.

I was playing to try to show most of the different screens that are in the game. Even though I created the whole game myself I am often surprised by things that happen in the game and am actually not very good at it. The A.I. players often beat me. The producers of RACE DAY invited harness racing participants and enthusiasts to record their harness racing day on Saturday, August 6, 2011. Twenty people from across North America submitted more than 10 hours of footage, and from that footage we crafted this film.
The colourful people you'll meet, and the behind-the-scenes action you'll experience run the full gamut of this intriguing world. Filmed at racetracks, farms and homes -- and from race bikes, trucks and private jets -- across North America, each contributor has a unique perspective. From pomp and polish and million-dollar races, to lush fields, pitchforks and elbow grease.

Hi YouTube this is Marc from Berryland. Today I uploaded a video of a harness horse racing game I made using GWbasic. In the video I play a little bit of the game but I'm not really trying to win. I was playing to try to show most of the different screens that are in the game. Even though I created the whole game myself I am often surprised by things that happen in the game and am actually not very good at it. The A.I. players often beat me. I hope somebody out thinks this game is as cool as I do.
