For many West Aussies, Emu Export is more than a beer, it is a religion.
One could argue that some Sandgropers' love affair with "Bush Chook" is so passionate, it resembles a marriage of sorts.
So when Geraldton baker Leeanne Tapper was asked to make a wedding cake for a couple to replicate an Emu Export can, she didn't bat an eyelid.
"I thought it was a pretty cool idea," she told WAtoday.
"She (bride) had a few ideas, but we decided to make the cake half and half in the end.
"The bride actually wanted the cake to be a surprise for her partner and had half the cake that wasn't an Emu Export can face him.
"I understand the groom had Emu Export cuff links as well."
Ms Tapper, who only started up Leeanne's Cake Geraldton late last year after doing a wedding cake for her daughter, said designing one side of the cake to look like a can of Bush Chook was a challenge.
She said the groom's devotion for his favourite brew was so intense, she decided to capture the figure of the husband-to-be on top of the cake, looking like he was running towards the Emu Export can.
"I had to play with the design and I wanted to make it look authentic," she said.
Ms Tapper said she had cans of Emu Export next to the cake as inspiration, but stayed away from swigging the beer for extra creativity while making her masterpiece.
"To be honest, I don't mind it," she laughed.
"My husband calls it the 'running bird'."
Since she posted a picture on her Facebook, Ms Tapper has been inundated with odd requests for wedding cakes.
"I'm making a wedding cake that is going to be half four-wheel drive and half butterflies," she said.
"So I've had an odd few requests."
