More than 11,000 Perth Wildcats fans freeze up for massive mannequin challenge

The Perth Wildcats may have fallen to New Zealand in overtime on Sunday, but that's not what froze the 11,000-plus crowd at the Perth Arena.

A video posted to the Wildcats facebook page on Monday morning set the standard for the latest viral craze the "mannequin challenge".

Perth Wildcats freeze arena with epic mannequin challenge

It's hard enough to keep a crowd silent, but check out this effort by the Perth Wildcats who managed to get 11,658 people to take part in the mannequin challenge at Perth Arena on Sunday!

The idea is a camera tracks a room where people are frozen in various positions - the challenge has been done elsewhere featuring the likes of NBA superstar Steph Curry and soccer phenomenon Cristiano Ronaldo.

This time the Perth NBL franchise managed to convince the crowd to take part in the challenge and the Red Army didn't let the club down as the Arena was totally motionless for more than a minute.

The stunt happened during half-time and was all done in one take.

Even Fox Sports reporter Adam Papalia froze from his NBL coverage duties to take part in the action.

Melbourne City FC's changeroom attempt has been viewed more than 400,000 times on Facebook.
