Kiev is the capital of the Ukraine and, as with Rome, is built on seven hills. It is dominated by many churches and monasteries. The Latin Quarter originated in 1837 according to the design of Vicenti Beretti, with splendid buildings such as the National Philharmonic and the Baroque Opera and Ballet Theatre that is a more recent building because the original burned down soon after its construction. A unique monument of architectural splendour and culture overlooks the upper town, Sofiysky Sobor Cathedral, that was modelled on the Hagia Sophia in Istanbul. The Orthodox Church is one of several mainstream Christian religions the most well known of which was established in Russia. The city’s river is affectionately known as Father Dnepr. It is large and an ancient trading route between the north and the Black Sea. The river flows beneath seven bridges that connect both sections of the city. The Babi Yar Memorial is located at the north western edge of the city in the once two and a half kilometre long and fifty metre deep Babi Yar Canyon. Today it is known as a place of gross inhumanity and is one of the biggest mass graves in history. A place of tragedy and contemplation. Following Independence, Kiev has been transformed. This Soviet city has turned into an East European metropolis. But its culture, history and ambience of bygone days has managed to survive right up to the present day.

Kiev is the capital city of Ukraine, its largest economical, political, educational and cultural center. Kiev offers endless opportunities for tourism. Traveling to this city may be one of the most pleasurable experiences in your life. Kiev's most famous historical architecture complexes are the St. Sophia Cathedral and the Kiev Pechersk Lavra (Monastery of the Caves), which are recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Noteworthy historical architectural landmarks also include the Mariyinsky Palace (designed and constructed from 1745 to 1752, then reconstructed in 1870), several Orthodox churches such as St. Michael's Cathedral, St. Andrew's, St. Vladimir's, the reconstructed Golden Gate and others.
One of Kiev's widely recognized modern landmarks is the highly visible giant Mother Motherland statue made of titanium standing at the Museum of the Great Patriotic War on the Right bank of the Dnieper River. Other notable sites is the cylindrical Salut hotel, located across from Glory Square and the eternal flame at the World War Two memorial Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and the House with Chimaeras.
Among Kiev's best-known monuments are Mikhail Mikeshin's statue of Bohdan Khmelnytsky astride his horse located near St. Sophia Cathedral, the venerated Vladimir the Great (St. Vladimir), the baptizer of Rus', overlooking the river above Podil, the monument to Kyi, Schek and Khoryv and Lybid, the legendary founders of the city located at the Dnieper embankment. On Independence Square in the city centre, two monuments elevate two of the city protectors; the historic protector of Kiev Michael Archangel atop a reconstruction of one of the old city's gates and a modern invention, the goddess-protector Berehynia atop a tall column.
Kiev is known as a green city with two botanical gardens and numerous large and small parks. The World War II Museum is located here, which offers both indoor and outdoor displays of military history and equipment surrounded by verdant hills overlooking the Dnieper river. Among the numerous islands, Venetsianskyi (or Hidropark) is the most developed. It is accessible by metro or by car, and includes an amusement park, swimming beaches, boat rentals, and night clubs. The Victory Park (Park Peremohy) located near Darnytsia subway station is a popular destination for strollers, joggers, and cyclists. Boating, fishing, and water sports are popular pastimes in Kiev. The area lakes and rivers freeze over in the winter and ice fishermen are a frequent sight, as are children with their ice skates. However, the peak of summer draws out a greater mass of people to the shores for swimming and sunbathing.
The centre of Kiev (Independence Square and Khreschatyk Street) becomes a large outdoor party place at night during summer months, with thousands of people having a good time in nearby restaurants, clubs and outdoor cafes. The central streets are closed for auto traffic on weekends and holidays. Andriyivskyy Descent is one of the best known historic streets and a major tourist attraction in Kiev.
Local public transportation in Kiev includes the Metro (underground), buses and minibuses, trolleybuses, trams, taxi and funicular. There is also an intra-city ring railway service.

This video shows the life people can have in Ukraine's capital Kiev when they have money or income sources from abroad. The footage is from 2016 filmed around downtown and suburbs. It includes nightclubs, street-life, hotels, apartments, cost of living, swimming in the ice covered Dnipro river, outdoors gym and beautiful women.
Things are getting tougher here for the locals as inflation has really dug into people's savings and monthly paychecks. It's still a safe city to visit though and I highly recommend people to go or move here if you have some money saved up. If you don't have time to pay this great country a visit, consider donating to charities that work with helping people in need and those that had to flee their homes in the eastern provinces.
The people in this country are good, God fearing, hard-working and friendly. Of all the countries to holiday in throughout the European continent Ukraine is by far the best. So stop wasting your money in London or Paris and come see the city of Kiev.
A word on the nightlife is warranted. There are some great nightclubs in Kiev. Hot women are everywhere here and I highly recommend going out a few nights if you're here for a short stay. The karaoke bars are also fun, Ukrainian women seem to love to sing. No wonder there are so many great singers that hail from here.
The top attractions here is the Dnipro river. You can go ice fishing on it during winter as it's completely frozen over. Go lifting at the outdoors gym. Study Russian at Kiev's University. Visit the museum of Russian art. See some amazing ancient orthodox churches. Watch Dinamo Kiev play in the olympic stadium. You get the picture. There's never a dull moment, even during winter.
Yes, it is ridiculously cold here from December till April, but that isn't a problem as long as you come prepared. It's also considerably cheaper with apartments during winter as there are less foreigners and tourists here. It's best to visit Kiev in January in my view.
Kiev is also one of the cheapest cities in all of Europe, if not the cheapest. Getting here is possible by train from the east. However it is time consuming and much better to fly in using Wizzair from Budapest or Ukrainian airlines.
There are some really cheap hotels around but apartments are often even cheaper. At least downtown around Krecschatyk. Apartments are also way better value for money. For people on a one week visit I would recommend the Maidan square area. When staying longer it's better to stay on the outskirts an use the metro to and from the centre of town.
Many foreigners and tourist are concerned about safety. On a short visit and when staying in the capital, such fears are overblown. The city is as safe as any other in Europe.

Kiev, Ukraine's capital, has seen more hardship over the past 100 years than any other city in Europe. Yet the city still stands proud on both sides of the banks of the river Dnipro.
For the past 45 days I've been studying Russian here. This film shows are some of the amazing people I've met and things I've seen over that period.
From hardworking normal citizens to great tourist attractions. From the sublime beaches along the river Dnipro to fantastic church art. These clips hopefully serves to give people and impression of what Kiev is truly like.
Kiev is paradise on earth during both summer and winter in terms of the open green spaces scattered all over the city. Towards the end of this film I go through some of the tragic history Kiev have suffered through and explain why this place deserves the title as Europe's greatest city.
As I did in my last movie I encourage people to visit Kiev or Ukraine for a holiday and spend money in the economy. Since then I've had my parents visit and they absolutely loved the city. They thought it was safe, beautiful and an extremely interesting part of Europe to wander around and explore in.
For first time visitors I recommend the Hotel Ukraina on Kreschatyk street. It's an old classic Soviet style hotel and used to be the most expensive hotel in Kiev during the days of the Soviet Union. The rooms are relatively modern and offer great value for money. The location of the hotel is also sublime.
As for time of year to visit Kiev, personally I love the winters when the city is covered in a thick layer of snow. If you can't handle minus 20 Celsius though, Ukraine's warmest months are June and July.

Kiev is a beautiful city with lots of things to do. I recommend sampling all the local Ukrainian dishes you can whilst here plus checking out the Dnipro river. One of my favorite activities to do during summer is kayaking or sunbathing on the banks of the Dnipro.
I also enjoy lifting weights at the outdoors gym in Hidro Park. Kiev has all the amenities and famous Western hotel chains you're used to from the West. The cost of living is however considerably lower. You can stay at hotel Tourist Complex for example for $12 USD. Hostels are as low as $5.
I prefer booking apartments though as I can do my own laundry. Kiev is a safe city with little dangers for tourists. Even though times are hard now here for locals I believe it is as safe to visit as any city in Eastern Europe. Ukraine has an undeserved reputation and is nothing like Russia.
Kiev is a great place from to pick up women. Ukrainian girls are very hot and approachable. there is a language barrier but that should not deter you if you haver rudimentary PUA skills. If you read Roosh V blog or the RVF forum you should find lots of killer information about dating in Kiev. Learning by doing is the best though. Throw yourself out there and approach 5-10 women per day and you're bound to get some great leads.
Check out the ocean plaza shopping mall on the Libydska metro station. It's a great spot to meet local women. Alternatively walk around Maidan Square or Kreschatyk street. You can see what both look like in my video. It's most beautiful during winter as the old communist buildings are covered in snow.
Luxury apartments in Kiev cost about $50 and budget flats go for as little as $20 per night. Shop around and you're bound to find a great place to live in a central location.
The summer in Kiev starts rather late. July to be precise and it stay wamr until late September early October. In fact I was at the beach along the banks of the river Dnipro in early October. Things start to wind down right around then though and there will be visibly less people sunbathing.
Peak season for tourist is usually around the summer months. You will only see a fraction of the tourist hordes you do further west in the former iron curtain though. All in all this is my favorite country to visit in eastern europe.

This video shows the life people can have in Ukraine's capital Kiev when they have money or income sources from abroad. The footage is from 2016 filmed around downtown and suburbs. It includes nightclubs, street-life, hotels, apartments, cost of living, swimming in the ice covered Dnipro river, outdoors gym and beautiful women. Things are getting tougher here for the locals as inflation has really dug into people's savings and monthly paychecks. It's still a safe city to visit though and I highly recommend people to go or move here if you have some money saved up. If you don't have time to pay this great country a visit, consider donating to charities that work with helping people in need and those that had to flee their homes in the eastern provinces. The people in this country are good, God fearing, hard-working and friendly. Of all the countries to holiday in throughout the European continent Ukraine is by far the best. So stop wasting your money in London or Paris and come see the city of Kiev. A word on the nightlife is warranted. There are some great nightclubs in Kiev. Hot women are everywhere here and I highly recommend going out a few nights if you're here for a short stay. The karaoke bars are also fun, Ukrainian women seem to love to sing. No wonder there are so many great singers that hail from here. The top attractions here is the Dnipro river. You can go ice fishing on it during winter as it's completely frozen over. Go lifting at the outdoors gym. Study Russian at Kiev's University. Visit the museum of Russian art. See some amazing ancient orthodox churches. Watch Dinamo Kiev play in the olympic stadium. You get the picture. There's never a dull moment, even during winter. Yes, it is ridiculously cold here from December till April, but that isn't a problem as long as you come prepared. It's also considerably cheaper with apartments during winter as there are less foreigners and tourists here. It's best to visit Kiev in January in my view. Kiev is also one of the cheapest cities in all of Europe, if not the cheapest. Getting here is possible by train from the east. However it is time consuming and much better to fly in using Wizzair from Budapest or Ukrainian airlines. There are some really cheap hotels around but apartments are often even cheaper. At least downtown around Krecschatyk. Apartments are also way better value for money. For people on a one week visit I would recommend the Maidan square area. When staying longer it's better to stay on the outskirts an use the metro to and from the centre of town. Many foreigners and tourist are concerned about safety. On a short visit and when staying in the capital, such fears are overblown. The city is as safe as any other in Europe. -

Yet the city still stands proud on both sides of the banks of the river Dnipro. For the past 45 days I've been studying Russian here. This film shows are some of the amazing people I've met and things I've seen over that period. From hardworking normal citizens to great tourist attractions. From the sublime beaches along the river Dnipro to fantastic church art. These clips hopefully serves to give people and impression of what Kiev is truly like. Kiev is paradise on earth during both summer and winter in terms of the open green spaces scattered all over the city. Towards the end of this film I go through some of the tragic history Kiev have suffered through and explain why this place deserves the title as Europe's greatest city. As I did in my last movie I encourage people to visit Kiev or Ukraine for a holiday and spend money in the economy. Since then I've had my parents visit and they absolutely loved the city. They thought it was safe, beautiful and an extremely interesting part of Europe to wander around and explore in. For first time visitors I recommend the Hotel Ukraina on Kreschatyk street. It's an old classic Soviet style hotel and used to be the most expensive hotel in Kiev during the days of the Soviet Union. The rooms are relatively modern and offer great value for money. The location of the hotel is also sublime. As for time of year to visit Kiev, personally I love the winters when the city is covered in a thick layer of snow. Kiev is a beautiful city with lots of things to do. I recommend sampling all the local Ukrainian dishes you can whilst here plus checking out the Dnipro river. One of my favorite activities to do during summer is kayaking or sunbathing on the banks of the Dnipro. I also enjoy lifting weights at the outdoors gym in Hidro Park. Kiev has all the amenities and famous Western hotel chains you're used to from the West. The cost of living is however considerably lower. You can stay at hotel Tourist Complex for example for $12 USD. Hostels are as low as $5. I prefer booking apartments though as I can do my own laundry. Kiev is a safe city with little dangers for tourists. Even though times are hard now here for locals I believe it is as safe to visit as any city in Eastern Europe. Ukraine has an undeserved reputation and is nothing like Russia. Kiev is a great place from to pick up women. Ukrainian girls are very hot and approachable. there is a language barrier but that should not deter you if you haver rudimentary PUA skills. If you read Roosh V blog or the RVF forum you should find lots of killer information about dating in Kiev. Learning by doing is the best though. Throw yourself out there and approach 5-10 women per day and you're bound to get some great leads. Check out the ocean plaza shopping mall on the Libydska metro station. It's a great spot to meet local women. Alternatively walk around Maidan Square or Kreschatyk street. You can see what both look like in my video. It's most beautiful during winter as the old communist buildings are covered in snow. Luxury apartments in Kiev cost about $50 and budget flats go for as little as $20 per night. Shop around and you're bound to find a great place to live in a central location. The summer in Kiev starts rather late. July to be precise and it stay wamr until late September early October. In fact I was at the beach along the banks of the river Dnipro in early October. Things start to wind down right around then though and there will be visibly less people sunbathing. Peak season for tourist is usually around the summer months. You will only see a fraction of the tourist hordes you do further west in the former iron curtain though. All in all this is my favorite country to visit in eastern europe.

Kiev's most famous historical architecture complexes are the St. Sophia Cathedral and the Kiev Pechersk Lavra (Monastery of the Caves), which are recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Noteworthy historical architectural landmarks also include the Mariyinsky Palace (designed and constructed from 1745 to 1752, then reconstructed in 1870), several Orthodox churches such as St. Michael's Cathedral, St. Andrew's, St. Vladimir's, the reconstructed Golden Gate and others.
One of Kiev's widely recognized modern landmarks is the highly visible giant Mother Motherland statue made of titanium standing at the Museum of the Great Patriotic War on the Right bank of the Dnieper River. Other notable sites is the cylindrical Salut hotel, located across from Glory Square and the eternal flame at the World War Two memorial Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and the House with Chimaeras.
Among Kiev's best-known monuments are Mikhail Mikeshin's statue of Bohdan Khmelnytsky astride his horse located near St. Sophia Cathedral, the venerated Vladimir the Great (St. Vladimir), the baptizer of Rus', overlooking the river above Podil, the monument to Kyi, Schek and Khoryv and Lybid, the legendary founders of the city located at the Dnieper embankment. This video shows the life people can have in Ukraine's capital Kiev when they have money or income sources from abroad. The footage is from 2016 filmed around downtown and suburbs. It includes nightclubs, street-life, hotels, apartments, cost of living, swimming in the ice covered Dnipro river, outdoors gym and beautiful women.
Things are getting tougher here for the locals as inflation has really dug into people's savings and monthly paychecks. It's still a safe city to visit though and I highly recommend people to go or move here if you have some money saved up. If you don't have time to pay this great country a visit, consider donating to charities that work with helping people in need and those that had to flee their homes in the eastern provinces.
The people in this country are good, God fearing, hard-working and friendly. Of all the countries to holiday in throughout the European continent Ukraine is by far the best. So stop wasting your money in London or Paris and come see the city of Kiev.
A word on the nightlife is warranted. There are some great nightclubs in Kiev. Hot women are everywhere here and I highly recommend going out a few nights if you're here for a short stay. The karaoke bars are also fun, Ukrainian women seem to love to sing. No wonder there are so many great singers that hail from here.
The top attractions here is the Dnipro river. You can go ice fishing on it during winter as it's completely frozen over. Go lifting at the outdoors gym. Study Russian at Kiev's University. Visit the museum of Russian art. See some amazing ancient orthodox churches. Watch Dinamo Kiev play in the olympic stadium. You get the picture. There's never a dull moment, even during winter.
Yes, it is ridiculously cold here from December till April, but that isn't a problem as long as you come prepared. It's also considerably cheaper with apartments during winter as there are less foreigners and tourists here. It's best to visit Kiev in January in my view.
Kiev is also one of the cheapest cities in all of Europe, if not the cheapest. Getting here is possible by train from the east. However it is time consuming and much better to fly in using Wizzair from Budapest or Ukrainian airlines.
There are some really cheap hotels around but apartments are often even cheaper. At least downtown around Krecschatyk. Apartments are also way better value for money. For people on a one week visit I would recommend the Maidan square area. When staying longer it's better to stay on the outskirts an use the metro to and from the centre of town.
Many foreigners and tourist are concerned about safety. On a short visit and when staying in the capital, such fears are overblown. The city is as safe as any other in Europe.

For the past 45 days I've been studying Russian here. This film shows are some of the amazing people I've met and things I've seen over that period.
From hardworking normal citizens to great tourist attractions. From the sublime beaches along the river Dnipro to fantastic church art. These clips hopefully serves to give people and impression of what Kiev is truly like.
Kiev is paradise on earth during both summer and winter in terms of the open green spaces scattered all over the city. Towards the end of this film I go through some of the tragic history Kiev have suffered through and explain why this place deserves the title as Europe's greatest city.
As I did in my last movie I encourage people to visit Kiev or Ukraine for a holiday and spend money in the economy. Since then I've had my parents visit and they absolutely loved the city. They thought it was safe, beautiful and an extremely interesting part of Europe to wander around and explore in.
For first time visitors I recommend the Hotel Ukraina on Kreschatyk street. It's an old classic Soviet style hotel and used to be the most expensive hotel in Kiev during the days of the Soviet Union. The rooms are relatively modern and offer great value for money. The location of the hotel is also sublime.
As for time of year to visit Kiev, personally I love the winters when the city is covered in a thick layer of snow. If you can't handle minus 20 Celsius though, Ukraine's warmest months are June and July.

Tourist information on Kiev. This Vlog is a collection of clips I filmed in Kiev Ukraine's capital over the past two months including:
1. The Obama Burger
2. F U Putin Chant at Champions League Match
3. Classical Street Music Performances
4. Beaches of Kiev
5. Kayaking
6. Go Karting
7. MMA Outdoors fight
8. Opera House
9. Street life
and much more.....
Kiev is a beautiful city with lots of things to do. I recommend sampling all the local Ukrainian dishes you can whilst here plus checking out the Dnipro river. One of my favorite activities to do during summer is kayaking or sunbathing on the banks of the Dnipro.
I also enjoy lifting weights at the outdoors gym in Hidro Park. Kiev has all the amenities and famous Western hotel chains you're used to from the West. The cost of living is however considerably lower. You can stay at hotel Tourist Complex for example for $12 USD. Hostels are as low as $5.
I prefer booking apartments though as I can do my own laundry. Kiev is a safe city with little dangers for tourists. Even though times are hard now here for locals I believe it is as safe to visit as any city in Eastern Europe. Ukraine has an undeserved reputation and is nothing like Russia.
Kiev is a great place from to pick up women. Ukrainian girls are very hot and approachable. there is a language barrier but that should not deter you if you haver rudimentary PUA skills. If you read Roosh V blog or the RVF forum you should find lots of killer information about dating in Kiev. Learning by doing is the best though. Throw yourself out there and approach 5-10 women per day and you're bound to get some great leads.
Check out the ocean plaza shopping mall on the Libydska metro station. It's a great spot to meet local women. Alternatively walk around Maidan Square or Kreschatyk street. You can see what both look like in my video. It's most beautiful during winter as the old communist buildings are covered in snow.
Luxury apartments in Kiev cost about $50 and budget flats go for as little as $20 per night. Shop around and you're bound to find a great place to live in a central location.
The summer in Kiev starts rather late. July to be precise and it stay wamr until late September early October. In fact I was at the beach along the banks of the river Dnipro in early October. Things start to wind down right around then though and there will be visibly less people sunbathing.
