TV Patrol

TV Patrol is the flagship national network news broadcast of ABS-CBN in the Philippines. It can be heard simultaneously on radio through DZMM Radyo Patrol 630 and its cable channel counterpart DZMM TeleRadyo and on provincial radio stations based in Palawan (765 kHz), Cebu (1512 kHz) and Davao (1296 kHz), with several MOR stations nationwide (103.1 Baguio, 93.5 Naga, 93.9 Legazpi, 94.3 Tacloban, 98.7 Zamboanga, 91.9 Cagayan de Oro and 95.1 Cotabato). It is also broadcast overseas via ABS-CBN's international brand, The Filipino Channel. It is the longest-running Filipino spoken evening newscast since its inception on March 2, 1987.

History

Pre-launch

In the fourth quarter of 1986, ABS-CBN News executives, among them the then News Manager Angelo Castro, Jr., began holding meetings with higher-ups on plans to launch an all-new news program that will serve as a replacement to Balita Ngayon. On March 1, 1987, ABS-CBN announced the launch of TV Patrol during the public variety extravaganza "Ang Pagbabalik ng Bituin" (The Return of the Star) at Luneta Park, Manila.

24 Oras

24 Oras (24 Hours) is the flagship national network news broadcast of GMA Network. It is the nightly national newscast which airs in the Philippines on GMA and worldwide via GMA Pinoy TV. It is aired every weeknights from 6:30 PM to 7:45 PM, and every Saturdays and Sundays from 5:30 PM to 6:00 PM (PST). The newscast can be heard on radio through Super Radyo DZBB 594 in Mega Manila and several of its regional Super Radyo stations nationwide (Super Radyo 909 Palawan, Super Radyo 1323 Iloilo, Super Radyo 999 Cebu and Super Radyo 1125 Davao).

History

2004-2014

24 Oras premiered on March 15, 2004 at 6:15pm, replacing Frontpage: Ulat ni Mel Tiangco as the network's answer to longest-running newscast TV Patrol. Frontpage anchor Mel Tiangco was joined by Saksi's Mike Enriquez, rejoining them in one newscast since they co-anchored Saksi from 1996 to 1998. Special weekend editions are also being aired when it deemed necessary (See below). The show, meanwhile, transferred its timeslot from 6:15pm to 6:30pm, it was currently extended to 90 minutes.

Aftab Iqbal (Urdu: آفتاب اقبال‎—Āftāb Iqbāl) is a journalist and television anchor who is from Okara, Pakistan who is the host of Khabardaar on Express News and the former host of the political-humour talk show Khabarnaak on GEO News.Aftab Iqbal currently Anchor at the Khabardaar Show Express News Previously, he hosted the show Hasb-e-Haal on Dunya News before leaving the Geo News channel Previous Show Khabarnaak With Some of Personal Issues. Aftab Iqbal First Coulum Issue in 1985 . Then he works in English media for one year in 1986 Aftab is the son of the Urdu poet Zafar Iqbal.In his Interview to a Channel Geo he Said" I Think That. I never take intrest In Urdu poetry And Urdu Writer If i am not the Son Of Famouse Poet "Zafar Iqbal" . From 1994-95, Iqbal served as Media Adviser to Chief Minister Punjab. As a columnist, Iqbal has written for a number of publications, including the Urdu language Nawa-i-Waqt he completed his early study from Convent of Jesus and Marry at Lahore. He graduated with Masters from the Government College University in Lahore in 1985 and studied media at the San Jose State University in California in 1986. Aftab belongs to Arain Tribe
