Stephan Douglas Jenkins (born September 27, 1964), is an American musician best known as the lead singer, songwriter, and guitarist for Third Eye Blind. Under Jenkins's leadership, Third Eye Blind has sold over 12 million copies worldwide of five albums: Third Eye Blind (1997), Blue (1999), Out of the Vein (2003), Ursa Major (2009), and Dopamine (2015). Jenkins wrote or co-wrote all of the band's most notable hits, including "Semi-Charmed Life", "Jumper", "How's It Going to Be", "Losing a Whole Year", "Graduate", "Deep Inside of You", and "Never Let You Go".
Jenkins was born in San Bernardino, California and raised in Palo Alto, California. He attended Henry M. Gunn Senior High School. Jenkins got interested in music early in life. He recalls banging out original works at the age of five, pulling out pots and pans on the floor of his kitchen at home in northern California. When he was 13, his family relocated to Madison, Wisconsin to support his father's career, but the Jenkins family returned to the Bay Area two years later. In 1987 he graduated from University of California, Berkeley with a B.A. in English Literature.

Had a pretty decent time! Apparently they haven't stopped touring for a year or so, been doing the college/university circuit across the US. Some of the things the singer said between songs were borderline paedophilic! Third Eye Blind is an American rock band formed in San Francisco in 1993. The songwriting duo of Stephan Jenkins and Kevin Cadogan signed the band's first major label recording contract with Elektra Records in 1996, which was later reported as the largest publishing deal ever for an unsigned artist.[5] The band released their self-titled album, Third Eye Blind, in 1997, with the band largely consisting of Jenkins (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Cadogan (lead guitar), Arion Salazar (bass guitar), and Brad Hargreaves (drums). Shortly after the release of the band's second alb...

This past weekend, Third Eye Blind performed at the majestic Chicago Theatre and, prior to the show, we sent Consequence of Sound's Dan Caffrey to chat with frontman Stephan Jenkins. What started out as a normal interview ended up becoming something a bit different. Jenkins starts off by discussing the recent tribute he paid to Scott Weiland at a show in St. Louis, and his personal relationship to Weiland and Stone Temple Pilots. Then, while discussing climate change, Caffrey attempted to place his hand on Jenkins' knee while holding the microphone. From there, the tension remains as the two try to continue talking about topics including auto-biographical songs, Voltron, and fashion. You'll have to see it for yourself. SUBSCRIBE to the channel! Check out my backstage interview with Third Eye Blind lead singer Stephan Jenkins on the Bamboozle Roadshow 2010 Third Eye Blind is an alternative rock band from San Francisco, California. They were discovered in 1996 when they were invited to open for Oasis. Their performance, as well as the hype around their demo and other works, landed the band a record deal with Elektra Records. One year later, the band released their self titled debut album and their first single Semi Charmed Life. The album exploded as Semi Charmed Life climbed to #4 on the Billboard Hot 100, as well as remaining #1 on the mainstream rock charts for over 8 weeks. Third Eye Blind followed that single with 4 more popular songs including Jumper and Hows It Going To Be, both of which went on to become Top 10 sin...
“It’s just distasteful if I hype the s*** out of myself. Only Kanye gets to do that.” Stephan Jenkins, lead singer of Third Eye Blind, proves he’s game for any and all questions in his mini-AMA at Lollapalooza, where he talks about Kanye, his dream duet with Lauryn Hill, and the scariest person he’s ever met. “Vibe for DAYS...”
