The Dwight D. Eisenhower National System of Interstate and Defense Highways (commonly known as the Interstate Highway System, Interstate Freeway System, Interstate System, or simply the Interstate) is a network of controlled-access highways that forms a part of the National Highway System of the United States. The system is named for President Dwight D. Eisenhower who championed its formation. Construction was authorized by the Federal Aid Highway Act of 1956, and the original portion was completed 35 years later, although some urban routes were cancelled and never built. The network has since been extended and, as of 2013, it had a total length of 47,856 miles (77,017 km), making it the world's second longest after China's. As of 2013, about one-quarter of all vehicle miles driven in the country use the Interstate system. The cost of construction has been estimated at $425 billion (in 2006 dollars).
The United States government's efforts to construct a national network of highways began on an ad hoc basis with the passage of the Federal Aid Road Act of 1916, which provided for $75 million over a five-year period for matching funds to the states for the construction and improvement of highways. The nation's revenue needs associated with World War I prevented any significant implementation of this policy, which expired in 1921.
The following highways are numbered 45:
National Highway 45 (India) (Grand Southern Trunk Road)
Interstate 45 (I-45) is an interstate highway located entirely within the U.S. state of Texas. While most interstate routes ending in five are cross-country north-south routes, I-45 is comparatively short, never leaving Texas. It connects the cities of Dallas and Houston, continuing southeast from Houston to Galveston over the Galveston Causeway to the Gulf of Mexico.
I-45 replaced US 75 over its entire length, although portions of US 75 remained parallel to I-45 until its elimination south of downtown Dallas in 1987. At the south end of I-45, State Highway 87 (formerly part of US 75) continues into downtown Galveston. The north end is at Interstate 30 in downtown Dallas, where US 75 used the Good-Latimer Expressway. A short continuation, known by traffic reporters as the I-45 overhead, signed as part of US 75, and officially Interstate 345, continues north to the merge with the current end of US 75. Traffic can use Spur 366 to connect to Interstate 35E at the north end of I-345.
Houston (i/ˈhjuːstən/ HYOO-stən) is the most populous city in Texas and the fourth most populous city in the United States. With a census-estimated 2014 population of 2.239 million people, within a land area of 599.6 square miles (1,553 km2), it also is the largest city in the Southern United States, as well as the seat of Harris County. It is the principal city of Houston–The Woodlands–Sugar Land, which is the fifth most populated metropolitan area in the United States.
Houston was founded in 1836 on land near the banks of Buffalo Bayou (now known as Allen's Landing) and incorporated as a city on June 5, 1837. The city was named after former General Sam Houston, who was president of the Republic of Texas and had commanded and won at the Battle of San Jacinto 25 miles (40 km) east of where the city was established. The burgeoning port and railroad industry, combined with oil discovery in 1901, has induced continual surges in the city's population. In the mid-twentieth century, Houston became the home of the Texas Medical Center—the world's largest concentration of healthcare and research institutions—and NASA's Johnson Space Center, where the Mission Control Center is located.
I-45 in Greater Houston from Galveston to Conroe, with a couple of skips in the footage, but the route is largely complete. Although it's not the most advanced freeway in all parts, it's still one of my absolute favorite rides due to its, still, fairly robust nature and length. Check out my Facebook page for updates and such (will be better maintained as people start paying attention): https://www.facebook.com/pages/JDDOT/612896115498516 It took awhile to get this one up due to technical difficulties. This video documents the I-45 North Freeway in Houston from Spring to Downtown. I only recorded part of it for this video. Seriously, the road has near LA levels of sprawl.
The proposed project and study limits begin at the interchange of US 59 and SH 288 south of downtown Houston and follow northward along I-45 to the interchange of I-45 and Beltway 8 North. The proposed study area also includes portions of I-10, I-610, and US 59 near downtown Houston; and the Hardy Toll Road corridor from downtown to Beltway 8 North. Projected increases in population and employment in the Houston metropolitan area will contribute to additional traffic congestion on I-45, which is currently classified as serious to severe. The proposed project is needed to address the congestion and to accommodate existing and anticipated future traffic. Additionally, the project is needed to bring the roadway up to current design standards, which would improve safety and provide for more e...

On this episode of Expanded Perspectives the guys start off talking about how recently while sifting through the remains of an Iron Age burial plot dating from 400 to 450 B.C. in what is today Germany, Bettina Arnold, an archaeologist and anthropologist at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and others uncovered a cauldron that contained remnants of an alcohol brewed and buried with the deceased. So she decided to team up with Milwaukee's Lakefront Brewery to re-create the ancient brew, using a recipe inspired by evidence collected from the archaeological remains. Then,a remarkable 7,000-year-old megalithic site that served as an astronomical observatory has been found in Muduma village in Telangana, India. The discovery has been hailed as one of the most significant archaeological find...

On completion of the Gulf of Mexico crossing, the Mississippi's birdfoot mouth and the Cajun shoreline of Louisiana unfold. This is followed by Sabine Lake and the vast refinery urban complex of Port Arthur and Beaumont, and, farther inland, the Texas A&M; University city of College Station, located in the midst of Texas's I-10/I-35/I-45 triangle--before the arrival of the oil rigs and the sand hills of central-west Texas. The arid mountains of Arizona follow, while alpine Big Bear Lake and the peaks of Southern California's Transverse Range to the northeast of Los Angeles, as well as the congested rush-hour freeways at dusk, accompany the descent a...

I'm in too deep
I can't get to sleep.
But when I do
I only dream of you.
I need to see your face, and feel your warm embrace.
It's your memory, that keeps me alive.
Will you remember me...
Like I remember you...
Will you remember me...
Like I remember you...´
Will you remember me.
Never felt this way. There's nothing I could say.
You've only left me wanting so much more.
Emotions every day and all the love we shared
There's too much room for us to grow.
And I just can't let you go...
Will you remember me...
Like I remember you...
Will you remember me...
Like I remember you...
And I just can't let you go...
Will you remember me...
Like I remember you...
Will you remember me...
Like I remember you...
