Old Trinity’s Alex Polidoros.

A 12-POINT win has given Old Trinity a two-game buffer at the top of the Premier ladder.

Their victory over Collegians, 11.11 (77) to 10.5 (65), was the club’s sixth straight to kick off the 2016 season.

Old Trinity came from behind for the second week in a row after trailing by 14 points at three-quarter time.

After being held goalless in the third quarter, Old Trinity booted six goals to two to get the four points.

Alex Polidoros kicked three goals and took his season tally to 19, while Christos Manoussakis and Jack Osborn both booted two.

Manoussakis and Osborn, along with Ned Hunt, were judged to be among the best for Old Trinity in the win.

Meanwhile, in Premier C, Marcellin Old Collegians’ horror 2016 season continued with a hefty loss to Williamstown CYMS.

After the first break, the Eagles never looked like matching it with Williamstown, going down 19.17 (131) to 8.10 (58).

Andrew Kay provided a light up forward on a dark day for the Eagles, booting three goals.

Nicholas Crosbie and Ashley Viney were among the Eagles’ best in the loss.

In Division 1, Whitefriars Old Collegians went down to ladder leaders Old Mentonians by 12 points.

The Friars fought back in the final term, booting five goals to the Panthers’ two, but it wasn’t enough to get them over the line.

Kieran Hayes was clearly the Friars’ best, adding a goal to an all-round impressive performance.

In Division 2, Bulleen Templestowe suffered a three-point loss to Emmaus St Leos.

The Bullants fell just short of the Animals, going down 7.11 (53) to 7.8 (50) despite clawing back a 17-point half time deficit to take a seven-point lead into the last change.

Despite a three-goal, best on ground performance by Daniel Hill, the Bullants were unable to hold on.

In Division 4, Manningham Cobras had a bye and will be looking to return with a win when they play Eley Park Sharks next week.
